    Another Amp / Impedance / Bi-amp question

How’s your Sanders amp in that mix? I’m considering the Magtech for my classic 9’s as an upgrade from Anthem MCA 225 mk2?

Classic 9 amp consideration: Sanders vs Anthem

Thank you for the reply, I didn’t mean to suggest that I think I need more power, the Sanders amp delivers its power in a manner that’s supposedly better suited to electrostatics than other SS amps.

Classic 9 amp consideration: Sanders vs Anthem

I have an Anthem MCA 225 mk2 amp running my classic 9’s in a bi-wire configuration. Sounds pretty damn sweet honestly, but you know how it is… The Sanders Magtech amp claims to be the end-all of solid state amps for our beloved electrostatics, anyone have any experience comparing these two...

Solid State Power Amp for Impression 11A speakers

That is a beauty! Which amp is that?

    Room Size ? Esl 15a

Save the 9’s for that room and put the 15’s in a much bigger space where they can breathe!

    Room Size ? Esl 15a

Man you’re going to need a lot of room absorption. My 9’s are in a slightly smaller room than yours but sound great with a good amount of acoustic panels behind the panels and at first reflection points on the side walls. That said, I can’t blame you!

    Absorbtion or some diffusion

I was just going off visual so heck if yours are 15 inches wide then you’ve some serious rearward wave action going on, definitely a good thick absorption panel of substantial width is best!

    Absorbtion or some diffusion

I definitely think the original toe-in was a bit extreme so as you discovered already pointing them a bit more square will likely help. Note the “flashlight technique “ ML suggests for setting toe-in. I also concur that I’d go with a thicker and wider panel behind them. I’d suggest...

Hello from Seal Beach, CA.... New ESL13As on the way!...

Where is your listening position in this image? I’d spread the speakers as far apart as you can in the room. The wider you can get them the broader the sweet spot will be for imaging. My classic 9’s are roughly 7’ apart and that’s room limited, the result is an incredible soundstage /...

    Just bought Monolith II

Definitely in line in the wall behind the panels. Try these, I have 2’x4’ panels behind mine. They have some nice fabrics in the non-std range. https://www.gikacoustics.com/product/gik-acoustics-244-bass-trap-flexrange-technology/

I concur on the treatment suggestions, I too have panels in a smaller room and adding treatment behind the panels was transformative.

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Bad man’s song is recorded even better. I remember the original tour in support of that album, Oleta Adam’s was amazing.

Which Amp to buy? The most frequently asked question on this site. READ THIS!!

In reading the write up on the Magtech, appears it’s also very ESL friendly with even more power. I have classic 9’s I run with an Anthem MCA 225 mk2, I doubt I can justify something with that much grunt! I’d love to get that ESL amp someday, on the lookout for a used one…

Which Amp to buy? The most frequently asked question on this site. READ THIS!!

People keep referencing the Magtech amp for our beloved ESL’s but I’m of the impression that amp is for cone type speakers, Sanders makes a different amp that’s specifically for electrostatics. Am I missing something?
