    Sequel II improvements?

Hi, I completely agree with you Jonfo, it's risky to try alternate mylar replacement, especially regarding diaphragm streching. Also, I think like you that some good DIY work on Sequel's and the latest clearspar panels will give a better result than a stock Ascent(for example). Please, let us...

    Sequel II improvements?

Bass improvement Hi, Eppo and Jonfo IMHO, there are many ways to improve these muddy bass on the Sequel II's. I also used to built speakers myself, and there are two things to do first. Remove the bass unit and swap the cheap damping wooll for modern sorbothane or "Deflex" plates. This will...

    Sequel II improvements?

Hi, Eppo and Jonfo, I also have the project to refurbish my Sequel II's. I mean I'm going to dismantle them completely, make a new glossy black "piano finish" on the boxes (this will be done by a professional coater), change the panels for the latest ones. I'm also going to take a look at the...

Getting Summits and looking for a good amp (used) match. Price range $2000 - $3000

Mark Levinson amps are also a good alternative on the second hand market. I currently use a ML23 to drive my Sequel II's and it gives a lot of clean and very controlled power. Also very musical and no "SS cold". Hope this can help.

    DIY turntable

Hi George, The motor I use is a synchronous one made by the french brand Crouzet. Take a look at this: Crouzet synchrone These are very precise AND reliable motors. You said you should buy wood and let it air dry. Does that mean that you plan to use hard wood? If so, it may cause you problems...

    DIY turntable

Hi Joe Thanx for the compliments! I didn't take the time to make photos during the making process (no digital camera at this time) so I have no pic of the table when it was unfinished and of the carbon parts before modeling or varnish. But be sure it's DIY, some friends around me who thought I...

SL3-eXtreme Center channel speaker – a design and build story

I'm happy to see you're enjoying so much your system because after all, it is the most important thing in all that we do. I confirm that I'm waiting for new stats for my Sequel II's. At this moment they must be on a boat in the middle of the atlantic ocean, between USA and France. I think that...

SL3-eXtreme Center channel speaker – a design and build story

Hi Jonathan, great job you've done here! I was wondering about the stator on your SL3 panel. It seems to have the transparent "clear spares" on the last photo. Does that mean that new replacement panels benefit of these new spacers? I'm waiting for new ones for my Sequel II's and don't know if...
