bump for updates Been through a bunch of gear since originally posting. figured i'd update. pictures are not the best..but you get the idea. :cool:

oh.. and as for headphones..., it sounds surreal. and thats just through my crappy sure e2c's. I need to get myself some new cans. for the money...., hard to beat those silly Sennhieser hd201s. $20 ! dont laugh. just listen.

its the m901, the "older" model. the 902, while having better features, just doesn't sound exactly the same as the 901 did/does. Ok... so far, i'm very impressed. the Grace drives the Stratos mono's easily and the amount of bass energy has to have doubled in my system! I took the modwright...

and i'm pumped. I've been running an oppo 970 ...which sounds super given its price ..., but is by far the weak link in my system. Monday, mr. UPS is bringing me a nice new Grace m901 headphone amp / DAC. I will be using this as my new front end, directly driving my Odyssey Stratos mono's...

the vantage has a normal 5way post. it'll take em.

I bet it is. I ran a Mambo for a year, and was just blown away by how sweet it sounded. the DAC was very decent in it as well.

yea, thats the bel canto I was talking about. :) no experience w/that particular amp, but i've heard / owned other BC "ice powered" amps, and I really like them. gobs of power, and very together sounding presentation. I dont think you could go wrong w/one.

I'll throw in.... Loved my Odyssey Cyclops. not too expensive either. VERY nice sounding. I'm a huge fan of the Manley Stingray..but maybe underpowered for panels. the new Bel Canto (can't recall the model) looks cool, and has a built in DAC and USB input. Plenty of beef too.

love BAT gear... my buddy ran a VK60 for a while, and we used that as our reference amp for a long time w/all of our various shootouts.

Iv'e been thinking about the candella as well. I love tube preamp > SS amp combo's. I'm currently running a modwright 9.0 w/NOS GE tubes, and it sounds pretty nice.

i've got clean power all ready.

thanks for the clarification fellas... I knew that the wattage difference was minimal, and that the quality of the amps was the big deal. I just neglected to mention that I guess. Klaus (owner of odyssey) told me that the stratus mono's where waaaaay superior to even just a straight up...
