That is so true. Even with my less than great hearing from drums and age, I can still hear immediately if a recording is well done or not (of course that could be subjective). Many of the old recorded material I think they took great pride and effort in getting the sound stage just right, and...
I like the use of the square. Now if I can find mine, I'm going to give it a try. My ML11's and my seated listening position, form nearly an equilateral triangle. I'm a bit more back from that, but not a lot. I still at times stand exactly behind my seated listening position and find it...
I know this is a bit aged now. And I was in on some of the knowledge exchange, I’m all of a sudden questioning my rake (angle). It seems I’ve noticed again, if I stand a foot behind my, I thought, perfect listening position that I get just ever so more of the sweet spot. How is the proper way...
Ok. I’ve reached nirvana. I think. I listened to a well known. Pink Floyd. Dark Side of the Moon. I’ve not heard in many a year. Especially since I got my ML11’s. Plus add my dual SVS PB16 subs. I may have caused some structural damage to my ceiling. I’ve never heard such. Not playing...
Ive been more pleased with the non-live tracks for some reason. The live that I have listened too, although good, don't seem that great for live. Maybe it's just the tracks I've listened to. Studio can always have an advantage, but great live is really enjoyable when you can find it.
I have this on my 11's, and it has more than enough power to drive; handles the low impedance with ease. I cannot even push it that hard as I'm getting 80db SPL easily in my listening position and my ears don't need that or more. He might be looking at much higher priced amps, but this worked...
Awesome response. Have you, or do you use ML ARC along with this? I ask, because currently I have a loaded ARC profile in each speaker. Wonder if I should remove, do this process, then redo ARC, or, forgo all together?
For those of you that have at least started out with this toe in/out, have found that the best position you ended up with had MORE or LESS toe in/out applied ? I’ve been at that approx position but am leaning towards a bit more toe in as I’ve noticed that about 2 feet behind the flashlight 1/3...
I just received mine yesterday. Hooked it up and it immediately was nothing short of impressive. I have ML 11a Impressions and the amp matches its needs perfectly. Crystal clear and plenty of power. I highly recommend.
I know what a dipole is. I just imagined my 11a's sealed up on backside not sounding good. Looking at the ESL C it might be technically a sealed cabinet, but they have 2 large spongy grey blobs tight behind the e-panel which I assume all but nukes sound that direction.
Thanks for the advice. I bit the bullet and ordered from Crutchfield. I've wasted far too much time trying to work around the potential compatibility isse, and it's simply not worth it for $120. Cheers.
I am in the same boat, although mine would not be temporary, at least that's the plan. I currently have 11a impressions (L/R) that have a Yamaha A3080 driving them. They are rated 165w into 8, but the manual clearly says you can run 8-6-4 ohm without issue. Ah, not sure that's the case with...
