    Montis vs Sanders Sound M10

    Good point.

Montis: I like them, but will they beat the Dynaudio C2 or even the C1?

Dynaudio recently sold out to the Chinese. So has Vifa, Scan-Speak and Elac (through a shelf company). The only surviving major speaker manufacturing company left in Europe is Dali. Dynaudio's C1 and C2 range are stupendous speakers. I don't know if it's fair to compare the C1 with the...

    Summit x vs Maggie 20.7 vs 3.7

Like most people here, I love Maggies. They have lots of character and offer a BIG soundstage and load a room like no other speaker. But when it comes to coherency, speed, dynamics, detail, and sheer musicality - nothing beats an electrostatic panel. I would love to say otherwise, but it...

    New Theos Review

A mid level Denon (AVR-X4000 and 4520) or Marantz (6008 and 7008) receiver will drive the Theos to reasonable levels and make some nice noises. I've tried a Byston B60R and this amp is a good match. Don't bother with the NAD receivers - they shut down.

    Montis

There are a few things the Summit X does better, but when you factor in the price differential, Montis is hard to beat.

ML Folded Motion vs ELAC Air Motion Transformer Tweeter

My dealer lent me a pair of demo Elac FS247 floor standing speakers while I was waiting for delivery of my Montis speakers. I thought they were a good compact size for smaller rooms, but the sound was too brittle - sounding like they had too much energy in the top end. Also, the bass was very...

ML Motion 35XT vs KEF LS50

Tom, did you get the R300? I just latched on to some Kef reviews - interesting reading. I bought a pair of Motion 15s for surround duties for my Montis speakers. After reading the reviews, I'm going Kef hunting myself. I'm thinking I could back trade the 15s for Kef LS50s which could do...

ML Motion 35XT vs KEF LS50

Tom, does it really have to be a stand mount? Would you consider going a slim, floor stander? If you did, that might open up some other contenders - like the Totems, or perhaps the GoldenEar Triton 7 - which is receiving outstanding reviews for such a relatively inexpensive speaker.

    Neotlith review from Audioholics.com...very interesting!

Actually, the 'look' is growing on me. I don't mind that blue color. And you're right Dave, I reckon only a big room would do them justice.

ML Motion 35XT vs KEF LS50

My shortlist for the best sounding bookshelf/standmount speakers are: 1. Stirling LS3/5a V2 (Beautiful speakers - limited loudness) 2. Stirling LS3/6 (Beautiful speakers - not so limited loudness) 3. Harbeth C7ES-3 (Yum!) 4. ATC SCM 50 (Active/standmount/VERY expensive/VERY loud) 5...

Need some help on what to buy, thanks in advance!!!!

Sorry about your dad passing :( I agree with the other guys. If you can afford the Summits - you'll never look back.

    Motion40 vs Motion60XT

I own a pair of the Motion 15s which I use as surrounds. Very nice speakers. I would imagine that as mains their bigger brother, the Motion 40, would sound great. I would suggest however that you go the next model up if you can afford it. I believe the XT series offers a slighter larger...

    System #01 (Summit, Cinema)

Okay, if we eliminate the Martin Logan electrostatic models from the 'wish list', let me talk about some other ML options. I have owned a pair of gloss black Motion 15s for about 6 months. I bought them to replace my Bose AM5s which I was using as rears for my Montis speakers while I was...
