    Anyone with recent Lampizator experience?

@msimanyi Thanks for your helpful post. I'm considering a Lampi DAC and I like to roll tubes. I too have a grimm MU1 and it seems such a waste to waste the ability to play back in DSD. a buddy brought over his new PS Audio Directstream MK2 with latest firmware and it sounded wonderful...

    ML uses inadequate power cables?

I'm late to the street brawl but I'll jump in and give you my opinion. It is probably worth what you pay for it. But I do have a physics degree from U of Chicago and 2 darn fine sounding systems: 1. Anything that has an amplifier I put a 10awg generic power cable on it. Amps, especially...

    Prodigy won't turn off automatically

Is there an option to use a 12v trigger instead of the music sensor circuitry? Changing caps sounds like a good suggestion as well.

DAC Choices - Denafrips vs. Schitt

Northy; I replaced a DAC that was too bright with the Schiit Bifrost 2 and initially loved it. After a couple of weeks I still am very impressed with it 95% of the time but on some songs I agree it is too sharp. after the other dac, it was smooth. Now that my ears have adjusted, I agree it's...

Brand new Masterpiece ESL 9 level difference in left right channel

With a high voltage probe you can check the voltage out of your transformers and check the voltage on each panel to confirm all is working correctly. note you need a volt meter to go with the probe if you don't already have one. Amazon.com: High Voltage Probe 40,000 Volts Max DC, 28,000 Volts...

DAC Choices - Denafrips vs. Schitt

Late to this thread but I just put my new Schiit Bifrost 2 DAC in service yesterday. Although modestly priced, the new BF2 is redesigned totally with a Multibit R2R architecture. Huge upgrade. Very detailed with a broad soundstage and the harsh highs I'd been experiencing are gone. I...

Options for refreshing/replacing my 28 year old CLS speakers.

Lightloopy, I saw your CLSII for sale and probably would bBuy them if we were on the same side of the country. Bass I'm not worried about as I have very successfully integraded subs. But I will investigate an 11A or 13A. I certainly appreciate your comments about resolution. I"d like to...

Options for refreshing/replacing my 28 year old CLS speakers.

Docknow, Thanks. I saw that pair of CLXs the day they were listed (I have searches set up). They're in Alaska so I decided to pass on them. I"m still watching but right now I'm moving slowly forward with the CLSs that I have. First I'm gong to shower them and see how they go--probably within...

Jeff, I'd love to take you up on that. I'm in Carlsbad. I'm driving to Mt Whitney this Thursday. Would you be available for a while to demo them in the afternoon? Thanks, Jerry

Options for refreshing/replacing my 28 year old CLS speakers.

I'll keep this thread updated on how I proceed. I am currently waiting for a high voltage probe to check the health of my panels before and after I shower them. --Jerry

Options for refreshing/replacing my 28 year old CLS speakers.

Guys. I have he large CLS in my possession. You're discussion is making me want to go buy the Montis that are available near me to do a head to head comparison, just under 500 in2 vs 1000 in2....I'm not afraid to buy something I will have to resell later so long as I don't lose too much.

Options for refreshing/replacing my 28 year old CLS speakers.

gvera, Good question and this may be a hole in my logic. If the big panel is just needed for bass and I'm planning to put in a 300 Hz crossover anyway, then why do I want to big panel? I think the big panel is key to the huge soundstage that the ML has. I also like the way the ML "fills up...

    CLS owner intro

Thanks Robert. I'm moving that way. Thinking about trying to find a pair of CLS IIz and buying a new panel for them.

Options for refreshing/replacing my 28 year old CLS speakers.

Update: Thanks for all the helpful comments. As I study the various generations and changes in the ML speakers, I see mostly changes to the way bass is handled. There hasn't been a lot of changes in the way the electrostatics are driven. If anyone thinks I'm mistaken here, and I very well...

Which Amp to buy? The most frequently asked question on this site. READ THIS!!

I got this advice before I bought an amplifier to drive my giant CLSs. I bought a Wired4sound STI1000 and it is rock solid. Couldn't be happier. Of course it is a class D amp. This is where a lot of traditionalist audiophiles get a divorce with ML. They are married to their 40 wpc Class A...
