How do I erase this thread? My amp was asking them to do too much. A downside of the speaker that it can’t handle it but I did try to hook it up directly to my home theater receiver and I’m pretty awestruck by what is coming out of them.
I ordered from audio advice. I know of no Martin Logan dealers in the area. Thank you for the suggestion though. I am definitely going to consider upgrading. I could do a review which could include comparisons of what does upgrading from Martin Logan’s box speaker to their panel speakers get...
Was a quick write up. I’ll be sure to be more comprehensive when I publish my findings elsewhere.
I have a lot of experience with speaker placement and treatment. I have both absorption and reflection panels that are mobile. My room is a big Victorian style room where one side is a large arch...
Was Robert D saying that I was driving the speakers into distortion levels? If so, that would have been much easier to say. I never assumed that’s what he was saying simply because I never said I was getting distortion. Even though I actually was and only when driving to 85db. 85db should not...
“Need power to make them sing” is a very very common statement made in this hobby. Too much power is absolutely not a really thing. Is the speaker able to do what I’m asking it to do? Nope. Is that because it’s a bookshelf? No. It’s because it’s not as high end as I was told it was...
What lol. My amp is just clean high capacitance power. It also uses similar technology to mcintosh where the amplifier matches the impedance of the speaker.l by keeping a constant load on it. Also I’ve had the amp for two year now and have powered quite a few bookshelf’s and never had an issue.
I have been in this hobby for a long time and never really considered owning a “high end” system but the bug bit me. I travelled a lot to audition and have gone to most of the north eastern shows. I have tried every piece of gear at the local shop and mix matched about everything they would let...
