Kerry and I watched "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" a few nights ago... It is an incredibly moving film that takes you right back to 9/11. I cried pretty hard thru most of it, remembering the event and also when Kerry and I visited NYC the February after 9/11... I knew I shouldn't have gone to ground zero, but I just had to... seeing the fence surrounding the hole in the ground... it was covered with signs.. pictures... the tears came with such a force that I could not stop them... What a tragic time in our world's history. I hope something this horrible never happens again..

Eleven years ago today, I watched the twin towers burn from about 30 blocks away. I had been in them just the day before. I walked to within 6 blocks of them to get a closer look at what was going on. I saw people walking away from the site, completely covered in dust and ash, and in total shock and fear. Even though I am a photographer at heart, I could not take a picture of these people. It just seemed wrong to do so. I remember lines of people at every pay phone, as all the cell phones were jammed by overuse. I remember people crying in the streets, and rabble rousers leading groups of people in angry denunciation of whatever foe they imagined committed this horrible act. F/16s were flying overhead. I also remember the kindness of the New Yorkers at this time, and how they all coalesced and came together to help each other out. They proved that our community and national pride outweigh our differences during times of tragedy, and that New York is one of the greatest cities in the world. My thoughts are with them on this day.

I was in Luoyang China about to out for dinner. We had been watching Chinese news on tv. We could not believe our eyes.

I was amazed at the good will shown to my wife and myself the weeks after during our trip.

I was driving home from a varmint hunting trip in NY State......I was nervous as hell with two long range weapons plus ammo in the back of my pick-up truck.....I stayed within the speed limit.....longest six hour drive of my life.

I was supposted to be in the building the first time the Bastards tried it but wiggled out of it.
Had co workers in the building second time all Ok except the thought .
