I put a DVD case under the back of each speaker and it sounds 10X better. I can't think of a speaker that can touch it. If Magnolia in Best buys did this, they wouldn't be able to keep these speakers in stock. The rake has to be close to 90 degrees or you don't get the sound that people rave about..

I talked to support. They had me swap panels. Its definitely the panel. Its like 4-5 inches down the panel there is very little or no sound. The other panel is crisp and clear in that area. Its very apparent.. They are only 3 yrs old. Tech support has been great so far.. :)

My right EM ESL always sounded more muffled than the left one. I switched positions and still the same thing. I ran audyssey and the culprit speaker is always +2 dbs.. Anyone ever heard of this?

Another thing,does the room treatment panel have to be the full length of the electrostat panel?

I used to have an Emotiva XPA 3,sold it,I heard no difference between that and my receiver. I do not crank up the volume like some people. I listen at normal levels,so I felt it was a waste of money. I have an Emotiva UPA 200 driving my motion 4 height speakers.

I have the same setup,I have an Onkyo 818 and wouldn't look back. Also it has Audyssey XT32 for room correction and you can get them pretty cheap right now. Best bang for the buck hands down and the 818 matches up great with the EM ESL's.
