Hello from Seal Beach, CA.... New ESL13As on the way!...

I had a pair of 13a they make magic. I now have 15as which are als fantastic I ran the 13 as with the Mac ma 12000 which I still have for the 15a The Mac’s are great with the Logan’s and as the bass is taken care of by on board amps your amp will have plenty of power and the combo sounds great...

Advice on reflection from a video screen behind the speakers shining through the panel

The 15as can play loud. I generally listen between 90and 105 Dbs but they can go louder so I don’t think you will have an issue. Remember being dipoles they see more filling if that makes sense. I am driving them with a Mac ma12000 which is 350 watts per channel plenty for the panel

Advice on reflection from a video screen behind the speakers shining through the panel

I have a similar set up but have an Illusion centre channel I have no issue with reflections and the 15as are brilliant for music and movies

Has anyone auditioned the McIntosh MA-9500 integrated amplifier or the previous model the MA-9000 and/or has it in their system?

I auditioned the ma 9000 and ma 12000. Both are excellent performers. I purchased the 12000 and it drives my 15a speakers. The 12000 I just preferred as it is very musical and matched with the Logan’s but it is more expensive. I have not heard the 9500 but it reviews very well

    Greetings from Down Unda!

Agree I have had others speakers but after I was seduced by Monolith 111 I have stuck fat with Logan’s Currently I run a pair of 15a speakers and they are just magic. The bass integration superb and they just make great music and kick butt. They are not that hard to drive like the monoliths...

New member and very new to ML world.

I used to own Momolirhs and they need lots of power much more than newer active hybrids. Eg I had to Classe 25s driving them meaning 1000 watts into 4 ohms and they sounded great The Marantz won’t be up to the job

    Recent review of 15a's

I think the blend is amazing the speaker is as coherent as any cone speaker. In fact the 15as have a great soundstage and amazing detail and with great amp and source creates magic. The test for me of any system is musicality ie you just want to keep playing music and you forget u are listening...

    Renaissance 15A Considerations

Yes the 15a have a wonderful soundstage and amazing detail. I am running them of a McIntosh Mc 12000 integrated the match is fantastic. My room is about 17 x17 with 9 foot ceilings but has a nook of about 7 x4 where I have a built in for storing records and cds etc. I traded up from 13a which...

    Need Help Deciding (ESL9 / 11A / 13A)

I run 13a as main speakers and a single bf212. I have copious amounts of very deep tuneful bass. I have the bass speaker smack bang in between the main speakers. The bass is seamless I can’t in my room see any benefit from more subs but????

    Need Help Deciding (ESL9 / 11A / 13A)

My room is 5 mtrs by 5.2 mtrs ie about 17 feet sad ceiling about 8 ft I have a pair of 13a speakers I have the panel about 4 ft from the front wall and they really energise the room and sound great. I used the bass management which works well So I would go with either the 11s or 13s as the bass...

    Monolith III -VS- Prodigy?

Agree I had Monlith 111s and if you have lots of power they are fantastic

Why so many used ML electrostats listed for sale and less than a year old?

Agreed. It also means that with dipoles small adjustments can make huge improvements Ie distance from front wall, amount of toe in and tilting the speaker as well as arc. It took me several months to get my 13as sounding spectacular. If you just plonk em and listen u will not get them to sound...

    The MartinLogan / Planète Haute-Fidélité Room |

True but most have never known about them. Companies must make money so it’s smart for them to move into home theatre with conventional drivers. But they also have the smaller entry level electro stats and their sales of electro stats have increased. The corporate side has slowed down the...

    The MartinLogan / Planète Haute-Fidélité Room |

I can only say that I live in Australia and the stars seem to sell well here even though it I S a much smaller mkt than the USA . I just bought a mac ma12000 and some othe gear from a retailer in Melbourne and they were so impressed with the 13as that they have now got pairs of classic 9 and 11s...

Illusion owners...where do you cross over?

Very sensible listening levels. 115 db is not wise at all I tend to have music around 90db which is plenty loud enough with clean sound For movies most are dominated by dialogue with action movies having strong peaks and others nice soundtracks. The centre speaker is the key to clean vocals...

    I’m back!

Maybe the recording is poor as the 13as will reveal a poor recording. I haven’t played any of the Allmans might try on my system to see how it sounds. These speakers will reveal poor recordings but rest assured they can really rock try a remaster of Lowdown by Boz Scaggs it sounds amazing but on...
