    Recommended amps for Impression 11a's

Another tube (valve) lover here. Mine are PrimaLuna. Since they are a Dutch company, surely available on your side of the pond.

    Solid State or Tubes

Mono blocs are almost always better than the equivalent stereo amp. I love my tube mono blocs.

    PrimaLuna Integrated

I too feed my Summit Xs with PrimaLuna power. I do use two Dialogue Premium amps as mono blocks. In triode, witch I mostly use and with KT 120s they are putting out a bit above 40 Amps. The sound is just fabulous. I like it much better than my previous Conrad Johnson CA 200.

To tube, or not to tube?

Hi Steve, Can't help you pick out music that will show benefits or weakness of tubes. I just listen to music I like and know well when I'm auditioning a new component. A while back I switched from a Conrad Johnson CA 200 (Solid state 185 watt/channel Integrated) to a PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium...

    Pass Is in the House

Really good to hear two people recommending cables from Signal Cable. He's so reasonably priced, everything is made to order. Amazing quality at bargain price. One more kudo here for Frank.

Will using other feet than the supplied ones be beneficial?

Mark, I think the problem is "out of kilter". I don't think MickyP is out of kilter with me. I think he's "in" kilter. To me, this audio pastime, hobby, obsession is totally a personal and completely objective activity. What Micky hears and what pleases him is fine. What you or I hear and what...

Will using other feet than the supplied ones be beneficial?

Just like most tweeks. Sometimes they work for you, sometimes they don't. So many variables, system, acoustics, ears, etc. Doesn't mean you're out of kilter with us. You just got different results. Certainly, it never hurts to try before you buy.

Will using other feet than the supplied ones be beneficial?

RDC and I have been like the Bobsy Twins on this thread. It's interesting that our observances have been very similar as well as some of our attitudes. My Gaia IIs have definitely stiffened up somewhat. I've attributed that to compression from having 75 pounds of Summit X constantly on top of...

    Summit bass?

I have Summit X's and have always felt that bass was more than adequate. The thought of adding subs never occurred to me.

    System #518 (Summit X)

Hello RDC, I usually am very cynical about mods like many of those offered by Synergistic, but these work. Wish I knew why. The moment I installed them, I was pleased. Soundstage improved, imaging and definition were better. I got them from The Cable Company in Pennsylvania. They offer a money...

Will using other feet than the supplied ones be beneficial?

They're a tiny bit higher, but I haven't made any adjustments to rake, position or toe in.

Will using other feet than the supplied ones be beneficial?

Received my Gaia IIs this morning. Installed them immediately of course. Patience is not one of my better attributes. Think that RDC hit it on the nose. Presentation seems cleaner, clearer and crisper. As he stated bass is a tad less prominent but more defined and refined. Heard that right away...

Will using other feet than the supplied ones be beneficial?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the Gaias. I just ordered two sets of Gaia IIs as well as the necessary adapters for the ML thread size.

    The DON / redux

McGahn today, who knows what tomorrow. What a man, he can't even say "YOU'RE Fired" to someone's face.

    The DON / redux

twitch54, agreed about quite a few Democrats. Did follow your suggestion and read the code. He didn't even allow the minimum 1 day and the next for members of Congress. Yes he appears to have lots of flexibility over the rules, but there's no mention of petty bullshit. Alan

Oh, give us all a break. We're ****ed and we have a right to be!!!

    The DON / redux

Once more the orange one demonstrates his lack of class. A tiny twitter comment on McCain and not keeping the flag at half mast. If those candy ass Republicans don't respond to his behavior, this country is toast!!!

    The DON / redux

+1 re: John McCain. He was a thorny maverick, but also a gentleman of the first order. I will always remember his rebuke of that woman at a campaign event when she called Obama a Muslim. Hopefully some senator or congressman will step up and fill the void.

Jump right up and show your age!!

Hadn't seen this thread before. Maybe just couldn't face it. Going on 77 and still rockin, sorta. Summit Xs

    The DON / redux

At this point, I would believe anything. High milage cars are not safe because people drive more. Give me a break, not only from the lies, but the STUPIDITY.
