Correction The CLSII came out in 1989.There was a very slight mod to IIA status,which consisted in removing something and soldering one wire inside the electronics module.The change was not big. Then there was a mod to IIZ status which added transformers and resulted in a big change in sound as...

I have both CLSII with panels from 2000 and CLSIIZ with panels from 2009. I would strongly suggest getting the mod to IIZ status,as it poses an easier load to the amplifier.New panels are expensive at 1500$ but worth every penny. Enjoy!

EP-1500 works unbalanced with 1/4 inch adaptors I use my EP1500 with my CLSs-great match.It even has high quality pots on the input.It was also a great match with my SL3s.

Speaker posts Have a look at the teaks concerning the CLS binding posts. I have dispensed with the binding posts on both my pairs of CLSs and the results are nothing short of miraculous.If that seems too daunting replace the binding posts with WBTs or Eichmanns.
