    Super tweeter

Hi So I guess the answer is not by multimeter and if you can’t hear it then how do you know if it’s working? I couldn’t hear anything so how can you test them? Regards

    Super tweeter

Hi I have some Tasket modules can you advise how to test them? Can I just use a multimeter on the ohms setting? What reading should I expect 8 ohms ? Many thanks

    Super tweeter

Hi Guys You might find this interesting. https://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/diy_supertweeters_e.html Not exactly sure if the suggested tweeter operates much above 18mhz The specified range., but I have been using them for some time with my Aeons. Does it make a difference, well I have not...

    DC Blocker

Hi I built three dc blockers following the circuit given in the link below https://sound-au.com/articles/xfmr-dc.htm The circuit is towards the end of the article figure 8. They are now installed one in each speaker (Aeon) and one for the amps, DAC etc. I only used cheap capacitors 6 4700uf...

    DC Blocker

Hi Thanks for the replies however I understand about the results on amplifiers but wondered what effect they when connected ML’s electrostics via the mains plug. Has anybody tried this? Regards William

    DC Blocker

Hi I have been reading about DC on mains AC circuits and I was wondering if Ml’s would benefit from the use of a dc blocker. From my understanding it appears they are used to reduce transformer hum. While I have never noticed any, I guess that’s because they are enclosed in the cabinet. Does...

    Black finish

Hi Guys Just to close this thread out I did contact Martin Logan and they stated that the finish on my Aeons was ‘Nextel’ I have found a supplier in the UK so that will be my next step. Hope this helps Regards William

    Black finish

Hi Guys I wonder if you can help. I searched the forum but could not find an answer , but I expect this has been asked before. My Aeons are a number of years old now and I have transported them around the world with me and so as you would expect the woodwork has received a few dings and...

    Confused

Hi Thanks for the input. If you are lucky enough to have a dedicated listening room then I expect room treatments will/should be not be that much of a problem however in a domestic setting is totally different. So the option of optimizing the outputs as it were would seem to be the best option...

    Confused

Hi Guys I wonder if you can clear up my confusion which is basically loudspeaker response and room response. I have just watched the following Which deals with speaker response that I interpret to be setting up your system to account for all elements of your system including cables etc...

    Super Tweeters

Hi I decided to use the one recommended in the article because it can be used as a dipole which should fit in with rest of the speaker. As to the crossover frequency I will try a few capacitors. I hoping that it will just reenforce top end, perhaps the last couple of thousand kHz. I guess it...

    Super Tweeters

Hi Robert I have decided to give it a try, so I will let know how I get on. As well as the tweeters you need an L pad I just bought two and this cost 40.00 pounds in the uk. The capacitors for the crossover, just a to try a couple of different values cost peanuts from the bay. One I have...

    Super Tweeters

Hi I don’t see this is really any different than integrating a sub-woofer into the system, all the same things have to be considered and yet many of us manage to do that with some degree of satisfaction. It may take a bit of experimentation to find the right crossover frequency and volume after...

    Super Tweeters

Hi Guys What’s your thoughts about using super tweeters with your Martin Logan’s? I came across this article http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/diy_supertweeters_e.html As you can see it is specifically for electrostatics and I was wondering wether or not it would be beneficial for improvement...

    Dampening loudspeaker (woofer) frame

Hi I would suggest that the mortite approach of wrapping the frame (basket) is a quick and easy approach rather than messing around with bolts and bits of wood. It only takes a few minutes to apply and should you not like the effect is easily removed, but I guess each to their own.

    Power Cords for M/L 13a B212 Make a difference ?

Hi Guys While this easy for me to say as I live in the Uk but our plugs and sockets are of a better design, in my opinion. They seem to be of a more substantial design for the contact areas and the the way the cable fits in the plug. This I recognise will be controversial but is meant to be...
