what amp to use with Renaissance 15a

Yup. What's the point of having the truck if it just looks pretty but can't pull anything. If you don't have an amp that can pull the heavy load (<1 ohm ) you really aren't hearing these speakers. Seems a waste to spend 30k on a set just to look at them.

what amp to use with Renaissance 15a

I have the 15a's in a large room. 18 wide 32 deep and 32 foot ceilings. I had MC running them and the amp couldn't keep up. Sounded compressed. I can explain it like this. Wattage is like horsepower. Voltage output is like torque. It takes a lot of torque to run these speakers. I ordered...

    Potential ML Owner...have questions!

Welcome to the club! I agree with Dave, if you can buy a pair of Vantages for four grand then buy them and I will pay you back! Your dealer should have a pair of Vantages that he or she will let you audition. Have them come out and set them up for you so that you get the proper sound. Maybe...

ML Depth and other comparable subs

If you were to ask any of the purist in this group they would tell you Martin Logan for sure (no offense my friends:bowdown:). However, I have the Velodyne DD-15 and that thing is one of the finest subs that I have ever heard, accurate and very quick. I bought it new from a local dealer after...

A story I heard A few years back Sonus Faber conducted a test that deals with the subject matter of this thread. Now, i don't know all of the details because this was told to me by a B&W and Sonus Faber sales rep. They put a group of people in front of speakers that were single wired and had...

Do you guys think that proud owners of bose speakers have discussions as in depth as this thread is? Another reason why I love these speakers. Cheers Cheers Cheers!!! Eric

    Vantage Vs. Ascent I

It has been my impression that the stators "break-in" relatively quickly compared to the aluminum woofers. If you bring them up to speed slowly at first, (ie don't rock the house right out of the box) then the process seems to go a little faster. The polymer in the woofer surrounds needs the...

    Hello audiophile friends!

I have been a HUGE ml fan from the moment I heard a pair of odyssey's a number of years ago. Recently I have purchased a pair of vista's and they sound great. It is set up in a two channel system with a velodyne dls-15. Running the system is a NAD T-754. Playback is through a Toshiba SD 2200...
