    Another shakeup at ML?

I've owned ML's on and off for quite a few years, and I've owned Sound Labs as well to name but a few. My opinion is follow the money, or at least where they thought it would lead. Once you start seeing a " higher end" product in places like BB and FS it's clear they are either suffering and...

    Right amp for the Montis

Any of the several ML's I've owned, the results are the same, in that these speakers are very amp dependent, more-so than any others I've encountered over the years. For speakers I settled at a mint pair of Monolith II's because of the immense panel size and have tried several amps. The one I've...

Monolith II common ground or not?

I just bought an Audio Research tube amp and it says to connect the speakers in a different way if they are common ground so I was wondering if these are? I used to have a pair of Polk SDA 2.3's that were. Appreciated if anyone would know. Thanks...

How to get more open sound from Monolith III

I'm surprised people say any of them aren't "open" sounding. I own the II's and they are so transparent they are ruthless on less and good recordings. I;d highly recommend you experiment with some other upstream gear such as the amp and pre before changing out parts.

    Has anyone use Elvamide?

Buy some Techspray Licron Crystal ESD (or a couple others) if you are adventurous enough to take the panels apart. You will likely have to replace the diaphragm material though as you likely can't separate the stators without ruining it. I'm in the process of doing this to a pair of CSL's

    Getting above 92dB

25' ceiling...what are you in an airplane hanger? ....low frequencies are at their best in huge enclosed spaces. I own a HIFACE M2TECh I am replacing soon as I don't think it's that great. I'd try to reducing the bass with the EQ if you are using iTunes as it really isn't very good at all. Look...

who needs new panels when you use conducitve liquid

By "conductive coating" what are you using? There's a ton of different ones. A commonly available one that many DIY's use is Licron Crystal from here: http://www.alliedelec.com/search/productdetail.aspx?SKU=70207106 I agree DIY is much more economical and not difficult if you can separate the...

    Monolith IIIs and Krell KAV-500?

I haven't heard them with that amp but I am pretty certain that is going to be a much better. The 1095 is a really good amp for the money, but the Krell is in another level altogether

    aerius board

If the "good circuitry" runs the dead panel I'd test the other electronics on the good panel. That will tell you if it's the electronics that are faulty as it sounds like you've just ruled out the panels being bad. If the other electronics power the other panel, then it likely has to be...

    Need an honest discussion here.

15 or so years ago, I picked up my first panel speaker and I was hooked for life. I've owned a lot of very good cone speakers as well over many audio years, but to my ears, nothing beats a good panel. They all sound different and I've owned several panels from 4 major manufacturers, and I can't...

anyone using Bryston Amps with your MLs?

I have an old Bryston 4Be which I'm running a pair of Monolith II's and it's very good. Transparent and detailed like crazy. Tons of power and great control. I'll probably go for an SST when I change amps unless I find something better in the same price range.

    Monolith II disassembly

Any special tips for taking the wood side uprights off? I assume one needs to take the crossbar off the top, and then the panel slides out? Panel wiring connections under the horizontal piece below it? Other screws inside the woofer box? Just asking as I haven't take one apart before. My...
