I would think that unless you get something to protect your floor it would affect your floor the way any heavy furniture would. I had a be once sitting on a hardwood floor and it scratched it up really bad.

I listen while I sleep, but I don't really fully utilize the sound system, because I keep it low.

That actually seems useful. The last time I moved my bed I actually tore up the carpet pretty bad. I wish I had those before hand, it would have made things a lot easier.
