    Who has Motion 40's ?

I do and I think they are wonderful ... they are the foundation of my ML 5.1 living room set up. They are perfectly complimented by a Motion 30, a pair of LX16s, and a Dynamo 700. In addition to sounding great, I think the Motion 15, 20, 30, and 40 series are the best looking speakers I've...

    Center for ML Motion 20

Motion 30! Mine blends perfectly with my Motion 40s and LX16s ... that's a whole lotta speaker there and I feel you'll be quite happy with it ... best wishes.

New to Martin Logan and Home Theater

hey David, glad to see that you decided on the MLs instead of the Klipsch set up ... last winter, I was looking toward some Monitor Audio bronze towers when I heard the Motion 20s ... the Motion 40s weren't in the showroom, but I figured (long-term investment-wise) the 40s were the way to go...

    ML Motion 12 Question

I haven't actually heard the Motion 12s, but there are 22 very positive reviews (17 5star, 5 4star) on amazon ... you can buy a pair of them there for just under $500. I have heard the Motion 40s ... I own a pair ... they are wonderful ... just under $1900 on amazon , but I've been seeing them...

Lookin' good John ! I hope there's an oppo in my future someday : )

weigh in on acoustic lobing (center channel design) ?

Yes, that's a wonderful review of the Motion speaker system ! The reviewer finds that the Motion 40s, 30, and 15s have "that special essence of completeness that is extremely difficult to find at any price" and along with a Dynamo sub is "one of the most phenomenally cohesive, startlingly...

    Open box speaker

No highs, no lows ? It must be something other than MartinLogan : ) Yes indeed, a night and day difference ... I went from Bose 701s and 161s to Motion 40s and LX16s ... A world of difference. Another LX16 replaces a Polk CS10 in the center, and a Dyno 700 instead of a JBL ... Oh, yeah ...

    Martin Logan Motion Series suggestions

attn border411 and anyone else who read this thread ... I introduced the issue of lobing today (2/13/13) in the general topics section ... we received a nice reply from Peter explaining how MartinLogan effectively designs their center channels to avoid acoustic lobing. I'm sorry if I caused any...

weigh in on acoustic lobing (center channel design) ?

well one more question if you will ... how do we know which one is designed to roll off, or does it not matter? Thank you ... I'm new to this, quite interested, and have always had a passion for music ... i love the sound of my new MartinLogans :-)

weigh in on acoustic lobing (center channel design) ?

Thanks Peter :-) That gives me the green light to buy the Motion 30 I've been wondering about ... I'll move my LX16 from the center, bring the other 16 back on line as the surrounds to go with my Motion 40s and Dyno 700 ... just thinking - two months ago it was Bose 701s, 161s, JBL sub and a...

weigh in on acoustic lobing (center channel design) ?

Anyone want to weigh in on the issue/problem (or non-issue/non-problem) of acoustic lobing that supposedly results from the traditional M-T-M design for center channel speakers? I've read articles and threads which suggest that horizontally aligned drivers and their soundwave patterns interfere...

    Martin Logan Motion Series suggestions

good luck with your new set up ... I hope you can get ypour hands on those LX16s ... great price for some great speakers

    Martin Logan Motion Series suggestions

A pair of LX16s for around $500 is a very nice deal ... I bought a pair of them last month at that price and am very happy with them (as you may know, they are last year's Motion 15s - basically the same speaker). Currently, I am using only one of them as my center channel speaker along with my...

    G'day from Sydney

Hey John ... well one of my Motion 40s (L) is pretty much in a corner ... I have very little space between it and the wall, and maybe a foot or so of open space behind it ... it doesn't seem to hinder the sound in anyway as far as I can tell ... then again, it's in the same spot as my Bose 701...

    G'day from Sydney

Motion 40s for mains and a Motion 20 for a center? That sounds wonderful ! I have a pair of 40s and an LX16 ( last year's equivalent of the Motion 15 ) for a center channel and they present a seamless and dynamic soundstage for my current 3.1 setup ... I can only imagine a Motion 20 sounding...
