LOL "hard", it's metal. Kinda surprised to see Katatonia mentioned on this forum besides myself. I gave that album a listen not too long ago. Gotta get into rotation.
Uh nope, the room causes way more distortion than any compliantly designed equipment. Go ahead an obsess over .003% thd vs .007% thd when SBIR (this still is a problem with ML's since they use cones for the bass) and reflections cause huge peaks and nulls. ;)
Keep both subs on the mono channel. There's no real point to running subs stereo IMO especially since you lose all the benefits of multiple subs smoothing out FR, the combined sum working less hard for the same SPL, and overall lower distortion.
Hello fellow Michigander,
I'm not familiar with the inner workings of that specific model. I plan on converting my EM ESL's to active at some point in the future. I talked to a DIY guy about it once and it was suggested to just remove the woofer from the passive Xover and leave the panel hooked...
Wow I'm surprised that render was accurate (looks like a quick render of what would be out of a group of renders in the concept stage to me), just weird some place would release that instead of real pics. At least it looks miles better in a real pic. The EM ESL-X head on looks a lot like the...
Until I see them on ML's site or their FB page they're just pics that site just hastily posted on there by people who don't do their research cuz people like to look at pics and not actually read anything. Anyone who's familiar with the EM ESL's know that pic is clearly that model and not the...
That's not an actual pic of the Renaissance ESL 15A. That's some 3D modeled render of something, could be from ML or could be someone on the internet making 3D models of stuff, who knows.
Also the pic that claims to be EM ESL-X are old marketing pics of the EM ESL's from when they were...
What a waste of subs. There's no point and pairing them each with a channel as then it negates the benefits of a multi-sub system. Bass management and correct positioning of subs would be superior.
One of the mods of Home Theater Shack was at this years RMAF (I think) and ML had a 4 Neolith...
Bi-wiring does nothing except part you with your money. In your case since the Vantage has powered woofers so even passive bi-amping wouldn't do anything either since it's more or less done that internally anyway. Save your money and don't buy Audioquest. I know this is a controversial subject...
I don't use Tidal but their page shows Weather Systems.
You should check out The Crestfallen EP or Serenades album if they have it... haha actually don't since you'll probably hate them then since that's when they used to play death metal. :) The Silent Enigma and Eternity are still metal but...
If digital cables made a difference then you should be able to find one that can change that dress from white/gold to black/blue or vice versa. Oh wait that's a visual perception issue, that probably doesn't apply to audio so nevermind. :)
