It was actually a post on this site which got me to go give a listen to the 1.7s and 3.7s.
I've since replaced my 1.6s and 3.6s with the newer versions and couldn't be happier. They're both great speakers.
To answer the original question, I have NOT compared the .7s with the new Martin Logans...

I've been watching Audiogon and the place isn't swamped with people getting rid of their 1.6s and 3.6s like I thought there would be. Perhaps the lack of biamping capability on the 3.7 might be part of the reason?
