Pre output voltage on a Pioneer receiver is too weak for you to realize the full potential of your amps. As for the difference between the Onkyo Pro/Integra, they are the same internally. Differences lie in the housing/display/warranty. acc4less has the factory refurb 5508 for $1,699.

I've owned my Aeon's since 2003 and love'em. To me, the previous generation Aeon's, that were built in Kansas, are much more desirable than the current Electromotions. That is if the Aeon's were well maintained and in near perfect working order. It appears you live in a hot/humid environment...
