which Preamp/Amp works best with ML??

Sounds like most are shying away from mentioning specific brands, and that's fair enough. Really, without you hearing the combo, who knows if it'll satisfy your wants and needs, or not. That being said, I run my Vantages with a McIntosh MA6500 integrated and I'm very happy. One can always want...

One woofer not firing on Summit?

Really only two feet or so. It'd be great to go another foot. But that's not very practical. I've got plenty of room from the side walls. But two foot or a bit more from the back wall is about all that works for the current layout. My listening position is only back about eight feet from the...

One woofer not firing on Summit?

Thanks for the heads up. In the end, my dealer just sent someone over and they actually used a little hot glue to hold the connector in place. Been fine ever since. I really love my Vantages. Best part of my system for sure. Surely would'nt mind some Summits, seems they can be had now for what...

One woofer not firing on Summit?

I've had a somewhat similar problem with my Vantages. Sometimes the woofer in one of the speakers would not start, or the whole speaker would not wake up. Finally, the speaker would play every time it was asked too, but no woofer. All it was was the wire inside the box to the woofer, either the...

    Anyone for some toe-in?

What is the bolded above? Thanks for enlightening me. I have experimented with toe in for a while now. I use a flashlight to get it close and then use a tape measure to get each speaker just right. Currently I'm toed in about 3.5" with my Vantages. I started at about an inch and kept working...

Officially a member of the club... more or less!

Congrats on the dream coming true Batman. (Sounds funny saying that!) And thank you for your service. It also means allot to us who've come before. I try to remember to lift you guys-n-gals up too. Lord knows you can use the support. Hope your time goes quick and your tour is up so you can come...

    First Logan experience

I recently moved to all Blue Jeans interconnects and am very pleased. I also like the fact you can custom order specfic lengths and get rid of the mess of extra wire. I'm soon to have a shoot out with my Harmonic Tech Pro Silway MKIII interconnect. If it looses, it goes and the savings account...

    First Logan experience

Great story. I've not had as many phases (I don't think) but I think I'll be failing (or going through) another phase reletively soon. Kinda fun to fail in this way isn't it!

    Amplifier recommendation please !

Maybe there's a rich guy or two in here. Those amps they are discussing are dreams come true for most anybody. You'll find they become a bit more close to reality when you buy used and you save. It's all a journey and you won't get there all at one time. But keep going, it's the fun of audio. I...

    First Logan experience

This thread rocks. It's really what music is all about. Finding something that really moves you. I'm sitting here listening to my Vantages and just can't get over how good they sound, even after three plus years. Everybody has their own taste, and me, I've found mine. They are singing for me...

    Center channel stands?

Hey there FoxMulder, that site ^^^^^ has some neat stuff. And, wow, the prices are within reason, not highway robbery. Thanks for posting.

    A new addition

Boys... Well, yes, a mighty fine looking (and sounding I'm sure) system. Since you don't have an 871 anymore, I vote you just get the new MVP881 to pair with the MX150. I've heard from my dealer that it is the best Universal player available, both PQ and SQ. And some of his crew said the same...

    Amplifier recommendation please !

I know that people on here talk about a number of amps including the Sunfires above, but I can vouch for McIntosh power. I have an MA6500 Int. Amp. It really makes my system sing, or it has good synergy with the MLs if you like. For example, I had the Mc out to get the lighting fixed and had a...

Help a HT guy discover 2 channel

You've received some pretty good advice above and in this thread already. May I suggest that you work on your 2 Ch rig one piece at a time. (I do my HT via 2 Ch and it is great BTW - Just one quality set of speakers and good power, conditioning, and display - really fun). Anyway, focus on a...

    Dynamo no more gogo

Definitely try the fuse. I've seen plenty of fuses that look fine, but do not work. Usually upon closer inspection you can find a spot where it is burned or there is a very small fracture in the fuse wire. Hope it was the fuse!
