Modifying the Odyssey crossover - my adventure

Are you aiming the panels as per ML instructions in the manual (flashlight method)? Also some diffusion behind the speakers might improve the width of the sound field.

Ethan Winer may be on the verge of proving expensive interconnects don't matter.

"Ethan Winer may be on the verge of proving expensive interconnects don't matter." Why is it always like this? People have made their minds up already before they start researching something. Doesn't sound very scientific or objective in my mind but then again, guess I'm thinking subjectively.

Why would we even need to be objective, it's subjective pleasure that we seek. ;)

Weak sounding panel repair (nothing to lose)

I believe that is so in the current production models. Conductive coating is applied horizontally and bias supply strip must then be in the vertical edge(s). It's maybe sealed with insulation "spacer" tape in which case mentioned method might not be useful. CLS panels might have different...

Wall behind speakers amount of reflexion

I have never liked absorption behind panels. Maybe in case having much less than 1m to front wall it might help but in that case I would look other than dipole speakers. However combination of absorption and diffusion can work wonderfully, only need careful set up to balance those. Everything...

    SL3 LED Mod/Update...

I don't know the supply voltage but there seems to be a 6k8 series resistor in LED circuit. Different LED have different threshold voltages but I expect that pretty much any normal LED will be ok as long as polarity is correct while installing. Series resistor will affect current flow and thus...

    System #293 (Vantage)

Looks like: http://www.sofsci.com/panel-types/corner Had 5 of those in my old apartment, they do pretty good job from somewhat under 100Hz up and don't over damp midrange voices.

    Time for a NAS upgrade!

Been using QNAP TS-431+ for over a year now, no issues. It's pretty quiet as well, could be bit faster if need lots of processing. Does good job as files backup system and sharing my photo archives between various computers. Installed with WD RED 3TB drives in RAID 5 configuration.

    Lovely system, welcome!

    System #517 (ReQuest)

I really like the way horizontal line in the front panel of Bryston complement those of the speaker. Also the contrast of dark tone of equipment stands out against the yellowish background. I bet it sound good too :guitarman:

Any progress with troubleshooting so far?

    Damaged Odyssey panels

You should try if they play music without problems. If you can't hear anything unusual (except for wonderful sound of ML) just leave them as they are. Trying to fix them might actually do more harm.

    Tube/amp ?

Well if we consider that 75W compared to 150W means full 3dB maximum SPL more, it wouldn't be critical difference for most users. If you really do need that extra power then surely 250W (~5dB)is a meaningful difference. Most of my listening is happening in the <1W zone  There are other...

    reQuest Woofer Replacement

What seems to be the issue with ReQuest woofer elements? Best and most likely cheapest solution would be to have them repaired if surrounds have deteriorated.

    SL3 distortion / saturation

You could start analyzing by playing (at safe level) frequency sweeps or fixed sine frequencies to find out which frequencies are problematic. You can find those on test-CDs or generate with software. Best option would use measurement sw such as REW but you need reasonably good microphone and...
