The amps were special ordered as 220v units and are powered by their own circuit. After a night of heavy use, they are barely warm.

Both the McIntosh and Martin Logan folks were at the house to help set up the system. They did not seem to have any issues and were pleased as how it came out...so I'm good!

I call it "Cinema Paradiso".

AKM3 Have you verified that all three speakers are in phase? What you describe can also be caused by a phase issue.

I believe I have found the compatible center channel with the Paradigm C5. For the first time, after using a Stage for a few years, I feel the center is doing its job and keeping up with my CLX L/R!

I use McIntosh MC601 x3 for L/C/R and a pair of MC302's for surround and rear. L/R-ML CLX, C-Paradigm C5, Surround-ML Stylos, Rears-ML EFX.

As rears they sound great. I am driving the surrounds and rears with a pair of McIntosh MC302's. In a small room/apartment they may work as fronts. But in a larger theater setup I would only use them as surrounds or rears.

I use the EFX as rear speakers and a pair of older Stylos for surrounds. They do a great job. Are they worth $3k? It's all relative. See Photo.

I own 3 MC601's to power my L/R CLX's and my new Paradigm C5 Center that replaced my Stage. For the first time in years, the center has come alive. The Stage is no sonic, and, in my opinion, no timbre match for the CLX's.

I only have 20" of clearance below the screen drop. There is no practical way I could use an EFX for a center. If, however, I were tempted to try, I would use 2 EFX based on their panel size and dispersion angle.

As a vocal supporter of Martin Logan, and a CLX, Stage, Stylos, and EFX, owner, I became disillusioned with the Stage after seeing Skyfall and Les Miserables at a 4K theater. They were the first films I saw in a theater in 15 years. It demonstrated forcefully that the Stage was the weak point in...

One or both channels? If one only, reverse the outputs of the amp and check if it appears on the opposite channel. If so, check the amp.

If the speakers are in very good to excellent condition, contact Martin Logan and ask for the cost of new boxes. If the cost can be justified, you can then offer them on a site like this, or AudioGon, or even Ebay, and be able to ship them anywhere.
