How about a Zoom session to commemorate the new site and 13th anniversary of our visit to ML in Lawrence, KS?

I'd like to attend the book session! I did not make the trip, but it would be great to see some of the members of this group!! Erik

    First post in a while

Hope everyone is doing well! I know I haven't posted in a long, long time. For those who don't know, I am a mechanical engineering professor at George Mason and have moved to 100% online classes (which is likely the case for just about every educational institution in the country). One of the...

All - Sorry that I have not posted much in recent months (or maybe years). It has come to my attention that one of our old members, Dan (DTB300) is very sick with cancer. Via facebook he posted a rather moving message. I'm sure we all have friends and family members who may have been...

Ethan Winer may be on the verge of proving expensive interconnects don't matter.

Perhaps one analogy might be that when you build a house, the foundation, quality of materials, etc. is where you need to spend the money. I think for what the cable industry promises vs. what is can be 'delivered' in terms of improvement is dubious at best. I've always felt that if the cost...

    The passing of John Glenn

Former military pilot, senator, executive...and the first American to orbit our planet. What a life! I think this guy was a true hero.

What speaker wires do you use?

I use anti-cables...I think they are a total steal for the price. For years I used Monster cables and then I recently tried anti-cables. I haven't done much of an A/B comparison, but I want to say there are some rather subtle differences.

    Not another bi-amping question?!?!?

I am considering buying used but finding 75 wpc or 100 wpc tube amps (again I want to bi-amp using my Sunfire on the woofers) is not easy. Well, it IS easy if you don't mind parting ways with $2000-$3000. I am hoping to find a 30-50 wpc tube amp (panels only) that's in the $1000-$1200 range...

    Not another bi-amping question?!?!?

Fair enough. It probably goes without saying that ARC, BAT, CJ, Levinson, Pass, etc are more expensive because they use very high quality components. They aren't just expensive for the sake of being being expensive, or 'upscale.' I was actually looking at Rogue amps the the night and I know...

    Not another bi-amping question?!?!?

Rich - Could you expand on this some more? I think a 100W tube amp (in a general sense) is likely out of my price range. I don't disagree with the 100 wpc metric as my 'gut feeling' is that 100 wpc is a nice round number and it will likely serve me well. With respect to tube amps, what is...

Yup, that's me Bernard! Is this change very easy to accomplish?

    Not another bi-amping question?!?!?

Yeah, yeah, yeah I know I haven't posted in like 62 years BUT I have started to make some small changes to my system (I just ordered some Anti-Cables!) and I am looking to, at some point, add a tube amp to the panels of my Aerius i speakers. Here's my question: Is there a minimum on the power...

Great stuff, Tim! I really need to mark my calendar (now!) to remind myself that this show is in October. I always forget! Erik
