I have ESLs and I put a floor lamp with a mid-hight arm and a light behind the panels so I can see thru the speakers.
They're about 10 - 12" away from the rear of the panel. They are pigtail florescent bulbs and don't put out much heat.
Is it ok to do this?

That or I've somehow managed to turn some folks world upside down using dust covers on a speaker.
Ok, i guess no one's done it, or is doing it. Let me be the first to say they seem to work great. (emoticon here)
Oh come on. This cant be the most bizarre post you've seen. And anyway, no you may not suggest I investigate purchasing another speaker. Good heavens. Who let this guy in?

Does anyone know if using ESLs with the cover on does any damage to the panels? I've had mine about 3 years. I'd say about 2 of those out of their own boxes. I almost never take the dust covers off. Sounds plenty fine at low to medium volume levels. Of course they sound detectably better...

Judgeing by the picture, you won't get a single sub to provide the bass you want to feel if you're 15ft away from the sub on a concrete floor. Move the sub closer to where you sit. Wired or wireless, a dynamo500 will give you all the base you want if its nearer to you. If it could...
