    New Vistas. New Amp?

Hi, I'm a Vista owner too. Your denon receiver on paper has adequate power to drive the Vistas. However in reality, its puny power supply and power storage, plus all the inteferences from jamming everything inside one unit, would not make the speakers sound great and to their potentials. IMHO...

Mcintosh or Emotiva Amp for Martin Logan Speakers?

How did the Emotivas sound with your ML set? Not quite what you expected so that's why you stepped up to McIntosh? It's great if you could share your experience with these amps so other members, especially new ones, can have some guidance/info when they look for amps or consider these to pair up...

Coming back to ML...need some recommendations

I'm always wondering what others think would be better: vantage or vista with a high quality pair of monoblocks or stereo amp (biased into class A) to drive the woofers (instead of class D internal amp modules in Vantage)? The price difference between the two speakers is about $800 (used) to...

    Advice for my clarity!

How much is your budget? Are you willing to add/have space for a separated power amp? It would be easier for us to give you a recommendation you answer those questions

    What???

Would it be a good marriage? Emotiva acquired Bob Carver LLC

Emotiva XPR-5 & XPR-2 or Mcintosh MC8207 for my Martin Logan setup?

MCIntosh is the right choice Man, I thought you said that you'd decided to go with the XPR-5 and then the XPR-2 :). No one can help you decide which amp to get here but your own ears so the best is auditioning them yourself. If you ask for people's opinions here, most would tell you to get the...

    Which amp should I get????

These are definitely class D amp. Yes, The Theos can be biamped. It has two pairs of binding posts. The Ethos is not since it has built in amp for the woofer.

    Which amp should I get????

Also try this: have the receiver drive the rears and biamp your Theos using 4 channels from the XPR-5 and the last for Stage-X. Compare that with having the XPR-5 driving the fronts and rears. :)

    Which amp should I get????

Awesome. Good luck and let us know the result. Though I doubt you would later get a XPA-2 for the main fronts. You would go with XPR2 or even XPR1's, or at least XPA-1's. XPA2 would be a downgrade :)

    System #342 (Vantage, Montage, Grotto-i)

Hmm, it's interesting that you found the Theos to be wider and have a wider soundstage. From reading their specs, I see they have similar width (actually the Vantage is a tad wider). The Theos has a taller panel and more vertical dispersion though so maybe that is what you've experienced, a...

You Know You’re An Audiophile When…

Read this article and thought it was funny and true so just want to share with you guys: You Know You’re An Audiophile When… I think all of us has at least one, if not some, of these 'qualities' :) It's from The Hub of Agon, not a sale post, so moderators please dont delete it.

    Which amp should I get????

In short, you can't go wrong with McIntosh amps. They are powerful, clean, detailed, yet sweet sounding amps for solid state. The guys at Magnolia referred to ML speakers and MCIntosh amps as a match made in heaven. However, they are expensive and you can get the same sound quality or even...

    Which amp should I get????

All Emotiva amps are capable of driving ML speakers. They are much better than amp sections in receivers. If you say a Denon 3313 can handle your EM-ESL or Theos then the Emo amps can sure do the job and better. But here is the thing, it's not about the power; it's about sound quality. Emo amp...

    Digital amps on ESLs

I second on quality interconnects and speaker cables. A friend of my had gone through a lot of components and was never completely happy with his system/got the right sound. He finally invested in quality cables/ICs (maybe a little too much :)) and now his system is really flowing and opening...
