Thanks man - yeah its nice to pull the screen down for special occasions... movies, F1, The walking dead :)
Im plaining on moving the love seat to another room so i will be moving the speakers inwards soon. Yes the polk surrounds are dipole ;)
Am i reading this right??? simply not covering them will cause them to die?
Mine get used daily but if i go on vacation i should cover them. Not doing this will result in a "loss in magic as stated above?? even without direct sunlight?
panel seems to be fine, i sat right infront of it and im getting sound across the whole thing. Gonna try and vacuum it this weekend and see it that changes anything
That might be it.. but i used a db meter and made sure it was 77db across the front... ill have to recheck that again
LOL.. these speakers are so finicky that a slight move to the left of the right and the db can jump.... but many do i love em ;D
I hope the title makes sense but i noticed on the the ML cinema the the front and back stator is not aligned perfect moving from the center to the left hand side. The rear panel holes are slightly higher then the front.
Will this affect sound? reason i asked is due to this...
i noticed is that...
Would it be best to run the output from the processor first to the grotto, then use the l/r out from the grotto to the amp?? thus eliminating the need for the Y cable?
I'm thinking about connect the grotto up front with my SL3, aswell as use it with for my LFE
The manual says to use a a rca Y splitters for my left and right channels on my processor . One set will got to my amp and the other set to the grotto.
Will splitting the signal degrade the sound...
Just finished playing around with the grotto... WOW!!! i cant believe how much bass is coming from that little thing and man does that 10 ever move!.
the only thing that im noticing it that i can pinpoint the subs placement (didn't have that issue with the velodyne),but i think that is just...
I have the opportunity to pick up a grotto for $400 cdn (used). condition is perfect.
Up until i purchase my logans the system was strictly theatre. after a 4 hr music listening session i realize that it will be mostly 50/50 now :)
I noticed that listening to the SL3's without the Velodyne...
Well the run has to be 8 feet long so i was thinking about buying some cable in bulk and making my own biwire
http://www.takefiveaudio.com/mall/shopexd.asp?id=915
I was going to run 3 single strands of 12awg to each post.. max i wanted to spend was $120 - 150.
one option was to pick up a pair...
yes, i took out my jumpers and used the same speaker cable for my run and this improved the sound quite a bit.
Prior to this i had a 12 awg going to the bottom post and a 16 awg going to the top and the sound what horrible. tiny, bright.. just nasty!
I think with electrostats the gauge used...
Having a hard time deciding what speaker cable to go with so it would be nice to hear what others are using for there Martin Logan's
Thought we could use the following structure below
Speaker: CLX
Configuration: BI WIRE
Upper post: kimber camber
Lower post: same as above
My setup:
