Ideas for Wrapping Panels when not in use

Hi, Own a pair of Odysseys. I live in a high humidity location in Asia and I;ve had new panels for only a year and already 1 panel is softer than the other in mids and trebles. I will be getting new panels very soon and would definitely want to preserve them the best way I can and I am thinking...

Lost 10db on one of my Odysseys

my turn!!! My Odysseys are now having the same problem.....I have been putting curtains, absorbers to ensure a symmetrical environment as I found my sound stage (mid and treble) bias to the left. At first I wondered if it was the YBA pre-power as the analogue volume controls are notorious for...

    I'm Vexed..., I'm Incredibly Vexed...

Check these out Hi, You really should checkout the Consonance Droplet, Consonance Reference 2.3 (2.2 is old model already but 2.3 is not globally sold yet) and also YBA Passion 600 CD Player. YBA is probably as "LP" or "turntable" as a CD player can get. Regards, CONRAD

    AMP Feedback: MF, Odyssey, Ayre

Thought I leave some listening feedback to add to our forum knowledge base of "personal experiences". I am in no way an "audiophile", more an amateur in the High-end audio space. Speakers: ML Odyssey CD: Marantz CD6000SE DAC: Benchmark DAC I have so far matched the ML Odyssey speakers to the...

    Weakness of Electrostatics

Dear Jeff, It was not so much whether the B&W was pumping out more "volume", it was really the "punch factor". My Odysseys use paper cones compared to B&W's kevlars, maybe the reason why MLs now come with aluminium cones....I don't disagree the MLs gives a more enriching and broad-ranging...

    Weakness of Electrostatics

I was at a showroom listeining to a pair of B&W 603 today with a friend. I was pretty amazed at the tightness and strength of the bass beats and depths. Something I have never heard of on my Odysseys. The bass was "alive" and more pronouced than planars I thought and I just want to seek feedback...

Subwoofers: HSU vs SVS vs Velodyne

Hi Lasermark4, What did you set at the cross-over? I have my Odysseys and it starts at 35hz but I am not sure if I should (when I get my woofer) set the cross at 35hz or above or below. Let me know. Thanks.

Subwoofers: HSU vs SVS vs Velodyne

HSU new sub Just came across from HSU Research website forum that they are launching a new sub. Have decided to give it a try. They seem to have stong reputation in the sub authority.

    Budget CD Player search

I was recommended the Marantz for CD player. I went the shop where my friend works and he specialises in all the "Japanese & mass market brands" types. Of course Marantz also makes high-end players but he told me that sub-$1000, the players has no or little difference. I followed his advice...

Subwoofers: HSU vs SVS vs Velodyne

Hi, I have been reading a lot about subwoofers. In the "underdog" category. 3 names came up tops for woofers with close-to-the-top performance but at man-in-street price range; HSU, Velodyne, SVS. The Descent has certainly made it to numerous reviews but falls in a price range above these...
