I also own over 300 classic rock cd's. I would have to say your cd's or your weak link. Nothing made can make crappy cd's sound good. Most old rock cd's are very compressed and low level.I am talking about many of the first ones.Many of the newer remaster of classic rock cd;s sound much better...

Myself I do not see ML speakers as very good HT speakers.They are overkill'and just wasted IMHO.I like ML for 2 channel setup for music only.HT setups need just decent speakers'Dynamic box type easy to drive.I use Monitor Audio silver and they sound great.Plus any middle of the pack HT reciever...

I am still trying raking.I still prefer the stock setup with my vistas.I like the timing better the way they are.The jury is still out on this for me.

Simple fact is Stereophile usally only reviews products that pay for advertising in their mag'Open the first page and a huge ad for the ML montis.That gets you in the front door.Good review also by the way.

I keep my Vistas covered all the time'Only when I listen do I uncover.Also a good air purifier in the room is a must.It sucks all the loose dust up.I have cats so it really does help.
