    Good cheap "test" treatment materials?

Great information, thank you very much. Would I be overdamping the room if I did acoustic panels on all the walls? The theater was built with that intent, (all the moldings have 3/4 inch grooves to drop the panels in) but the old owner never finished.

    Good cheap "test" treatment materials?

I would like to experiment with absorption, diffusion etc... but don't want to spend a bunch of money on anything until I decide what sounds best. Any thoughts on cheap ways/materials for test purposes? Any treatment recommendations for a 19x24 dedicated theater room with a coved ceiling where...

    New woofer for SL3's

I am very close to finally getting the sound I want out of my system. I see a few posts about upgrading the woofers on SL3's, but no definitive answers :-) I don't care for the sound of a sub. Tried a couple, and never felt like any of them integrated properly. Maybe it's because of...

    Teres Audio

My 340 came with the Verus, so I haven't compared it to the belt. All I know is I love it !!

Taming high freq brightness on SL3

My Mac gear is fairly new, but has enough hours to break in. MC2000, C2200 pre and Teres 340 running through a Manley Steelhead. This all replaced some old Carver SS gear I had for years, but never had the brightness issue. Tilting the speakers forward is definately NOT the solution...

Taming high freq brightness on SL3

Thanks Roberto, but I don;t use silver. Bluejeans IC's, older Audioquest speaker cables that I bought with the speakers 10 years ago. Tried 4 ohm taps, 8 ohm taps. Going to try using some BJ speaker wire that I have lying around and see what that does, but I don't want to do anything that...

Taming high freq brightness on SL3

Always loved my ML's for my HT. SL3, Cinema, Script i. But I have upgraded to a really revealing system for 2 channel. All tubes. Mac MC2000, C2200 Still outstanding for HT, classical, jazz, and alboms that don't have a lot high frequencies. Older rock and roll and anything with a lot of...

Ever turned your Aerius upside down....

...and mounted them on the wall as surrounds? I am thinking about mounting them upside down on the wall, with a diffuser behind the panels. I realize that they prefer to be away from the wall, but as a surround I am not using them to their potential anyway. This way I only need scripts for...

    Absorb or reflect behind ML

In a dedicated theater I have SL3's up front. Because of the "stage" they are only about 2.5 feet from the wall behind them. I am remodeling the theater, and am wondering if, based on that, I should have a reflective surface behind them or an absorptive surface. She wants to put up Velvet...

Do I HAVE to have ML centers with SL3s?

I have SL3's with a Cinema center and Aerius rears. I could not disagree more with the folks recommending no center. For movies, the center is one of the most important elements in a HT setup. If you have to wait to build the budget for a good center, at least put somehitng there in the mean...

    Aerius as rear surround

I have been bidding, and losing, on some scirpts for many moons to replace my Aerius i as my rear speakers. I just want something wall mounted to get them off the floor. Looking for opinions on the other ML Wall mount options to go with my SL3's up front and cinema center. I have hear some...
