Oh, I would be doing it myself, but only if a guide existed showing it can be done. I don't dare tear that thing open without the having everything I need to rebuild in hand. I'll go look up the post on your page. Thanks!

I eagerly await the guide! My Theater has been sitting on a shelf unused for the past few months awaiting its fate. A rebuild could be in its future!

Steve, I'm not able to help you with your Cinema question, however I have a question for you regarding showering a panel. What are the "suggested improvements"? I read through that thread and there's a lot of suggestions. What were you specifically talking about? (Simple green, temps, etc...)...

Based on ML lack of any support for the Theater center channel speakers there will likely be a market for a refurbishing service. I don't think I'm that person, however, I'd be willing to inquire some details of how to diy directly from ML if they are willing to play ball since they won't take...

I think you are spot on. I did wash the panel with some improvement, and if I crank up the volume to unreasonable levels the high frequency comes back, but that's just not practical for TV and movies. I'll probably put it up for sale soon and move on to the reQuests.

I will admit all of that sounds a little daunting at first read. I did wash the speaker and although it's improved, it is still feeling muffled until I crank up the volume to "11", at which point it sound pretty good, but the level is not something I'd be comfortable watching a movie at. ML...

Thank you for the detailed info! Starting with the good news, washing the panel did have a positive impact on sound. Bad news is its still lacking highs and sorta sounds like a thin blanket is hung in front of the speaker. If you crank up the volume to very high levels, the panel finally starts...

Is the crossover not good stock or do you mean refurbish with new capacitors? I did go to the CR site, however although a lot of speaker brands are mentioned, I didn't see anything regarding Martin Logans. As far as sending to Germany, that's probably too costly for me since, as I mentioned...

What about doing a "Panel Rebuild Guide" using a ML Theater center channel panel? I just purchased that speaker last week and I'm very unimpressed with the current sound. I'm assuming it's due to age and dirtiness. I emailed Martin Logan and they no longer support providing replacement panels...

I just picked up a pair of older (1999) reQuest in black and a Theater center channel earlier this week. I've never heard a Martin Logan speaker before to my knowledge and thought I'd give them a try due to the advice of a work colleague. I suspect a re-panel is in order for the reQuest pair...
