I have ML Montis speakers and my room sits on a concrete slab, with a heavy carpet pad and carpet. I purchased Gaia Isolation Feet and installed them as feet on the bottom of my Montis speakers. I had read good reviews on them and I feel like they probably aid in reducing vibration through the...
That's a beautiful setup. Love the room, and the amps and speakers are fabulous. I'm a big fan of acoustic treatments and believe they are probably the best $$$ you can spend for improving sound quality and stage imaging.
I'm curious - with all of the money spent on best hardware, great...
Beautiful system. I am a Buckeye too, so I like the rug and room too!
With the huge investment you have made in electronics, cables, and everything else I am little surprised to see no acoustic treatment behind the ML's. In my experience the easiest and most cost effective improvements for...
Beautiful room, love the treatments - but I gotta believe those ML's need to be pulled farther away from that front wall. I have a very similar setup and I have spent hundreds of hours playing with my speaker locations, dialing them in using a laser and my speakers are about 48" from the front...
That's a beautiful room. I'm not sure how much time you've had with your ML's, but the most important things to consider are:
1. Provide plenty of space behind the speakers. For the best possible sound you will want to pull them out in to the room about 4' from that front wall.
2. Take lots...
I spoke with Iso Acoustics and they recommend the GAIA III for the ML Montis speaker. They informed me of the special thread that is required. I tried to get that special thread from Crutchfield but they were not aware of the issue. Iso Acoustics is sending me the special thread that is...
jda99 - Thank you for the detailed answer above. I have an engineering mind and I like to have at least some idea as to how something works (at least in theory). I have ordered the Iso Acoustics GAIA III Isolation feet and will give them a try and then report back with my findings. I have 30...
I'm posting to this thread in hopes that someone with loads more experience might explain how both of these approaches could possibly be best. It sure seems like steel spikes (which would in theory prevent the plane of the electrostat from swaying) would produce the exact opposite effect of...
