Back! I did try the DC300A, sounded great. It takes a fair amount of time to convert back and forth between amps even if I use banana plugs. So a dirrect comparison is difficult. Both amps sound great. Next step will be (after a week long trip) will be to biAmp the Sequels using two XLS1002.
Back again. I just hooked up a Crown XLS1002 class D stereo amp to my Sequels. It cost $300 list price, I bought for less at Amazon. Crown claims 350 watts@4ohms and 550@2ohms. I drives my Sequels very well, cool and quiet. My wife said "what did you do to the "big speakers? They sound better!"...
I just finished recapping and cleaning Crown my DC300A. Also just bought a Crown XLS1002 series2 class D amp (very inexpensive $259 or I would not have done it). I have set up the new Crown and I'm very impressed. It is running very cool driving my Sequels and they sound great. Specs say it can...
70, getting younger every day (mentally, ask my wife!). Sequel ll pair, just bought ML Motion 4 pair and am breaking them in, they sound great! (now you know I'm old)
Hi Chippie, I have Sequel lls now for a couple of years. As long as you not blowing out the walls any good amp is OK. I'm using an old Onkyo I rebuilt (100 per channel) for a while and the system sounds good. I have a Crown DC300A and IC150A I used for a while and I'm rebuilding them now. This...
Next step is using these instructions to wash my Sequel lls. First it has to stop raining here in Maine. I will take pictures when I do it, Thanks to Steve for his excellent PDF and to 2395 for the extra advice and to VanDaRo for his results. Also to all members whose advice is great!
After finding the sound got better tilting my Sequel 2s back 8 degrees, I decide to try hooking up an older Onkyo A-RV401. Replaced the speaker protection relay and power supply filter caps, the sound is excellent especially considering it is old and very inexpensive. Also plays very loud...
I just tilted my Sequel 2s up about 8 degrees, and sound got better actually alot better? I will set them back level next week and listen to them. Any thoughts?
Welcome, I'll bet the Senarios are fabulous. I have ancient Sequel 2s with 10 woofers, I find the bass a little overwhelming even with the on board switches at -3db instead of 0db. Enjoy.
I purchased Vanatoo's Transparent Zero. I'm more than impressed, fabulous sound, incredible frequency response and TINY. I am comparing them to my Martin Logan Sequel 2s. Unfair? Yes, but the only things missing are the ability to fill a large room with LOUD music and the sound of DEEP bass for...
