Five piece band. The first time I listened to this I was astonished by the black background. The detail is first class as is the recording. Transient attack, speed, everything. This CD will shine in any decent system. I would like it on vinyl, but for some reason expensive.

This is one of my favorite Patrica Barber discs. Others to try are "Modern Cool" and "A Fortnight in France". Also be sure to get the MoFI versions, the are available in CD, SACD, and 45 rpm LPs.

The Chicago crowd are all big Patrica Barber Fans, we usually get together twice a year just to go hear her play.

She's a Goddess! She rebuilt the Hammond B-3 she uses herself IIRC, and, don't forget "Companion" recorded at The Green Mill. The person who miked the percussion was just about perfect.
