can anyone please tell me what a nice condition set of SL3' speakers are worth? I am the orginal owner and they were in a smoke free room. the panels have been replaced but awhile back. thanks

Agree w/Gordon, around $1K.
A lot depends on age and condition of the panels.
A set with panels less than four years old should command a 200 to 300 premium.

I have a quick question? When you replaced the SL3 panels did you replace it with the original panels or a newer version, and did you notice any difference in sound quality?
I only ask, because when I replaced my panels the newer ones sounded a little different.

mattsl3: the reason i replaced them was because i was having a level difference and i tried switching power supply's over and it still was the same panel so Jim P. sent me new panels and i am assuming they were the old style they do not have the clear spars.

Matt, my experience with the new panel was it makes a significant difference.
Even panels in decent condition will compare poorly to brand new ones.
Mostly, the improvement is in the highs, but midrange performance seems better to me as well.
