Good Pre-amp on top of Primare A30.5 and Vantage?

Hi all,

Only my 2nd post here. I will have to change my pre-amp out. The Arcam AV9 (in a mixed Audio, AV system) is too edgy and clinical to do justice to my Vantages. So, I am looking to find a good audio pre-amp (possibly tube) to siton top of my Primare A30.5 (120 W into 8 Ω and 200 W into 4 Ω ). I will address AV later.

Price range around ₤1500. Any advice please (UK based)?

Isn't there anything in the U.K. similar to Audiogon? Used is probably your best bet.

pre-amp

I went to a store close to London today to audition CD players and pre-amps, but after listening to the Bryston 2B power amp, I got the impression my problem is much more related to the my power amp (Primare A30.5 120 Winto 8 ohm). Suddenly the balance was much better. WOW, now I am really confused.....

Yes, I know I have to get a CD player too, but the first problem seem to be PWER AMP of all things!!!

Am I getting it wrong???
