Somehow this guitar found me and refuses to be ignored. Its a 1956 Gibson Les Paul Jr. that has been slightly tricked out with new tuners and an extra pickup. Looks good with the 1950 Blond Kay Bass behind it. Had to have an amp to play it through so I ordered a new All Tube 50w Peavey ValveKing 112 and that came in today. That little combo amp sounds so good its sick! It was probably made by nine year old political prisoners in China, but dang! it makes that Les Paul Jr. wail!!! I had to shut it down before the neighbors could organize. They were starting to gather in small groups with pitchforks and torches:D

Now that is a NICE PICTURE. As a former (1980's hard rock) gigging guitarist now passing on the art to my sons, I would tell you not to worry about where your amp comes from, but rather how it sounds to your ears.

To mine, the Soldano SLO 100 on Peavey 5150 cabs takes the cake. And yes... I ALWAYS wear hearing protection when I go down to the basement and jam with my boys, where a double-bass Tama Rockstar/Sabien, 120 Line 6 combo amp, and a 300Watt Alesis digital piano also reside. Let's just say that we can wake the dead...;)

Now thats a Source!

VDR,

That's an awesome set up:D!!! Thanks for the photo. I'd love to see a photo of the rest of your studio, drums, keyboard, etc.

I was playing gigs in the eighties in North County San Diego '78-'85 and even put a band together when I was working on Ascenion Island in the So. Atlantic from'86-'89. Now I play the upright bass and sometimes electric bass for pick up blues gigs around here. Trying to remember how to play guitar...

Your boys are lucky to have such a cool dad.

This is what we need a LOT more of, people actually playing
music instead of arguing about interconnects!

Bravo...

I just got a Collings SJ last week...FREAKING AWESOME! It is a cutaway too! They don't do to many of those. I picked it up at the factory near Dripping Springs south of Austin.

I just play acoustic gigs w/ it. Here are my babies that get the majority of play time. I play lead in a church Praise Band... These are all one off hand made by Kevin Pederson Guitars! The guy not only builds one of the best guitars money can buy but he can ROCK TOO!

These guitars from left to right: Ascension #2, The Last Supper #2, Crucifixion #2

Pcar,

Those guitars are insanely gorgeous! Do you have any close up shots of the fretboards? What amp(s) do you like to use with these guitars?

Photos, photos, photos, audio porn of the guitar kind:):):)

Jason,

Thanks for the link. Thats craftsmanship of epic preportions... I don't think I would want to play one of those in the dive bars I usually play in:D The detail on the fretboards with the biblical themes is outstanding. Calling that audio porn of the guitar kind was probably not the best choice of words. Now I feel like I let a loud stinker rip in church... Gack!

That is FUNNY! I don't think Kevin would mind you referring to his guitars that way! He LOVES building these works of art! Jason, thanks for putting the link up there...I forgot to do it.

The best pics of my guitars are on his site actually... So look at them there. We are so limited on file size here (understandably so) that to really get a good idea of his fret board art you need to see it in a large file on his site.

Glad you like! They play as good as they look too!! YEA BABY!

Jem90 - not sure that Goldtop follows the performance through light weight rule:)!!!

Come on now Jem90, you can't be posting pics like that and NOT tell us the specifics of each of those guitars! That is NOT FAIR!

Great stuff guys:D:D:D

User211, Thats a cool photo of you playing the Les Paul Supreme... Are you playing Interstellar Overdrive or might that be Interplanetary Cosmic Confusion Matrix? I'm having flashbacks...Ack! Bad Dog, Bad Dog!!! Sorry, What key is that in?

Jem90, I'm with Pcar928fan. C'mon, a little more info on the quiver. I do like the Goldtop. What year is it? Looks flawless.

Can anybody tell me anything about my guitar from the photo? I've looked around a little and haven't seen anything that even looks like my Les Paul Jr. There is no serial number on the back of the headstock like I've seen on other '56 Jr.s

Thanks,
Satch
