There is a bar just up the street called the Beach Shack where you can hear great live music, local musicians and national acts. No cover charge. Mostly blues... Sometimes I get a call "Hey, we need a bass player, wanna play?"
Tonight it was The Reverend Billy C. Wirtz who also lives near by and uses local mercenary musicians and we had a throw down at the shack. I brought the 1950 Blond Kay upright bass. Although I've never played with him before, I knew enough of his stuff to improvise without any Major F' ups. Although I was laughing so hard at times I'd forget what key we were playing in...
