The Last Waltz
Original Film Release 1978
MGM Studios
Concert Film
Director:Martin Scorsese

 This is still a great film even if it is 30 years old.The concert footage is outstanding. This was The Bands last concert together,at the famous Winterland in San Fransisco on Thanksgiving Day 1976.The concert footage is still some of the best I've ever seen, and the music still holds up today.Joining The Band on stage are some of the most influential musicians of that time.Eric Clapton performs Further On Up The Road,Dr John performs Such A Night,Van Morrison,(my alltime favorite singer-songwriter),performs Caravan. Neil Young performs Helpless,Joni Mitchell performs a more uptempo version of Coyote,Muddy Waters performs a very memorable Mannish Boy,the final 2 tracks with Bob Dylan,Baby,Let Me Follow You Down and I Shall Be Realesed are also excellent.Levon Helms Vocals on The Weight are outstanding. This DVD is a must have.
