I bought pair of used X-LS Encores from CL for $80 for use as computer speakers. They sounded really awesome in my den so I decided to try them out in the living room and wow these guys sound amazing. They definitely benefited from the extra space. Compared to the EM-ESL, the ML's has a slight advantage when it comes to imaging, sound stage, and clarity but the X-LS Encores sounded fuller. I was curious to see why so I took measurements of them and the EM-ESL seems to have quite a hump between 700 to 7,000. Between that and the 55hz hump due to my room acoustics, it made everything from 70hz to 700hz sound recessed. Does anyone else with the EM-ESL notices this with their speakers?
