For me, it's trying to understand what's going on in American politics and why he is being supported by so many people.

Consider this, Gordon: The reality show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" ran for four seasons, and would have run longer had it not been exposed that "Mama June" was dating a registered sex offender. Trump's own reality show has run for over 14 seasons. This should give you some clue as to what's going on in America that would lead to this kind of political atmosphere. It's a combination of low information voters, economic hardship (and inherent need to blame someone else for that hardship) and the 24 hour news cycle and hate-television/hate-radio talk shows. Mix it all together and stir, and you get Trump as the republican candidate for president.

So true. Well said.

Just look at the Kardashian empire built on a home made porn tape. This entire country is off the rails.

Present company on this site excluded.

Low information voters? Blaming someone else for hardships? I think you get a community organizer out of Chicago with that combination.

Terry McAuliffe, our governor here in Virginia, recently restored the voting rights for convicted felons. Right on time for the election in November. The democrats apparently know where to find their voters. I just heard tonight that Terry seems to be linked to the same security review that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been conducting on Hillary's computer.

I never watched "Honey Boo Boo", saw very little of Trumps show. I have been busy watching "Obama's World" for the past 8 years. I wouldn't recommend it though. The series starts out way too slow. The middle is all over the place, hard to follow, and leaves you wondering who the hell the producers are and what the heck they been smoking. Now towards the end of the series, things are fizzling out. I mean how many times can you keep getting various characters into scandals, lies and various foreign policy blunders? Writers block has to kick in at sometime. Doesn't it?

Thank You Kevin!! Well said!! McAuliffe should be impeached, so should Bam Bam for allowing illegals the right to vote, let alone stay here and collect benefits that I work very hard to pay for.

I don't love Trump, I loath the way he spoke about the British PM (you don't speak to one of the USA's greatest supporters that way IMO). However, we need to get the fund sucking illegals out of here, this is not "send us your poor, tired and hungry anymore...we are under attack...and that means getting no more entry to Islamic people into this country until they can be properly vetted...period! Not an easy task but, you can bet your 'bippy' 'ol Hillary will let them in by the planeload...that makes me sick.

Hello, Somali Muslims are building bombs into laptop hard drives, my guess is that is what brought the Egyptair flight down this week. Who is going to stand up to these fools! Not Clinton, not Sanders...

To respond to previous posts, who cares if Trump ****es off N Korea? or China? (their economy is in the toilet anyway).

Rant over, thanks for listening, love ya's!!

I think the British PM started it, didn't he? Between multiple attacks in France, sexual assaults in Germany, and Muslims in Britain returning home after tours with ISIS, I would think the leaders in Europe would focus more on their own troubles. I believe Britain is having a vote on whether or not to stay in the EU coming up shortly. Polls show it being close, and one of the main issues is immigration.

Ummmm? Yeah. Thanks for making my point for me, Stuwee.

Who cares if a President ****es off our largest trading partner and one of the few militaries in the world that could actually defeat us in a war? Really?

One of the news talking heads came up with a perfect comparison (I think) to describe the "mental" dynamic of those who would vote for H vs D.

Rational vs emotional.

PS: Or to state another way perhaps. Facts matter. Facts don't matter.

It's interesting in a train wreck fashion, but I think I'm finally hitting the point of being completely burnt out on Trump news where I may check out of all threads like this one. In my Helicopter Off topics forum there is a very busy "Sh#t Trumps says" thread that I've decided isn't worth keeping up with. At least one or sometimes as many as 4 or 5 of my FB friends have a Trump thread going at any given time. John Oliver and Bill Maher are completely focused on him. Obviously all of the media is constantly running stories on him. The last one I saw on FB was that he just declared Global Warming a Hoax, while he is taking steps to protect his golf courses against rising oceans.

I'm seriously considering actively avoiding all Trump news until Fall since everything between now then is just a big time black hole.

Anyway, enjoy the carnage, I'm going to try to make this my last Trump post until Fall. Wish me luck! This train wreck has a way of pulling you back in over and over again.

I totally understand Mark.

In my mind, the media is very responsible for all the hype and exposure given to Trump. I think one would call it "enabling".

GG

PS: DT plays this game quite well and has been well rewarded with massive amounts of free advertising and exposure.

Rich, I could be wrong but I doubt very much if China is our number one trading partner, we easily trade within our own continent far more than China, all I recall for years Canada has been number one.

As far as 'war' if the Chinese scare you than blame Obama, he's been in charge the past eight years. Besides they have a massive army but Navy that doesn't hold a candle to ours. As for N Korea, they are a rouge Nation ruled by a fat little 'Chia Pet' !

Compared to...the last republican administration? Let's see...Started out with The Supremes installing G. Bush by disallowing an accurate vote count in Florida, in one of the most bizarre ruling ever, pretty much ending any respect for the Court. Followed by a VERY unpopular start, with his ratings pretty much in the toilet, followed by 9/11. Then...WMD ("Slam Dunk"), so war with the folks that attacked us? NO! War with Iraq -- What a smart move THAT was...Oh my.

Then he decides to flex his muscles and privatize Social Security...Uh, How'd that one work out for ya, Shrub?

Of course, the capstone for his brilliant administration was helping his super-rich oil buddies and running the economy into the ground, giving us the financial collapse and The Great Recession.

Point is -- I find it difficult to accept anyone running around willy-nilly continually slamming President Obama when the oh so pure republicans have proven to be so much worse for our Country. Especially given the TOTAL opposition of the tea party and Mitch McConnell determined to oppose EVERYTHING the Obama administration proposed -- even ideas previously advanced by republicans. What a bunch of hypocrites!

I stand corrected, Dave. You are right. Canada is the largest, representing 15.2% of our total trade. But China is not far behind at #2 and 14.9%. So I think my point still stands.

You are joking, right? The Chinese are second to us in military spending, and are considered the third most powerful military behind us and Russia. It wouldn't matter if Patton had been president for the last eight years. This is still a war no sane person would want to take on. Heck, Bush had about all he could handle with Iraq and Afghanistan and those wars just about bankrupted us. We will be paying that debt for generations! A war with China would likely mean the end of the U.S. as we know it. Can't disagree with your assessment of N. Korea, though.

Hi Dave,

Also take exception to your second quote highlighted by Rich.

Obama was elected when this country was sick of war and that sentiment really hasn't changed much.

If you go the Obama route, one does risk the potential of the USA appearing to be weak in the foreign arena. I'd counter with what he has done recently in regards to ISIS, which appears to me and others to be the top threat to worldwide security.

Any reasonable person should agree that the drone program and his aggressive policy have been hugely successful in taking out the top ISIS operatives. And I just read that we took out the top AlQada leader.

Later Amigo.

Gents, my reply was to insert my belief that China is not a threat from the standpoint that such a conflict would not end well for either side or for that matter all of humanity ......... not sure there's much of it left around anymore though .................

ARen't you all glad I'm back?

LOL Len, seriously though ................have you ever posted anything 'audio related' ??

This is still a war no sane person would want to take on.

no argument there Rich

We will be paying that debt for generations! .

speaking of which................how has the Obama admin done with the Nat'l debt as of late ?

For once, I agree with you 100% Rich.

Besides military, in raw people-power alone, China have more than 5X!! the population of the US.

Not to mention, China and Russia would be more likely to form a coalition.

The world is far too war-happy as it is. It's got to stop.
