Hi,

I just wanted to see if anyone has tried upgrading the "low DF electrolytic capacitors" in the EM-ESL cross-overs. The mod looks like a low hanging fruit...

Thanks,

Trey

The real low-hanging fruit is to bypass the passive bass xo (inductor and cap) entirely and use an active xo and additional amp there.

Do you have pics of your ESL crossover project?

It doesn't make a whole lot of difference,. I upgraded to clarity capacitors on the ESL panel. Bypassing the woofer crossover entirely and powering it with its own amp and electronic crossover made a much bigger difference.

Hopefully, I'm going to upgrade my EM-ESL capacitors over the July 4th weekend. A mix of caps.

22uF - Mundorf EVO Supreme Oil
39uF - ClarityCap CSA
68uF - Mundorf MKP
180uF - Mundorf 150uF E-Cap, plus an Axon 30uF

No plans to upgrade inductors. At least not until after time with the recap.

A pic, though some of shunts were updated, as noted.
