Hi all,

I've got me a very cheap set of Aerius and wants to replace the panels. The speakers are made in 1993.

Do you have any idea of where in the world it would be cheapest to buy these and what would be the price?

I know that Martin Logan would direct me to my local dealer - but I have already tried this and the price for replacement panels is just to high to make sense. (2K$)

I think it would be sad if these nice speakers - their general condition is great - should end their life in the junkyard.

Best Regards,

Heine Dupont

I feel your pain.

We've had robust discussions on this forum about panel prices.

But talk is cheap - panels from ML are not.

The only options you have is to see if you can find a third-party who can refurbish your existing panels, DIY, or try cleaning them in the shower.

You can try contacting Russ from ESL Repair ( http://eslrepair.com/) He use to build ESL panels but he's retired now and fixes panels on his spare time. His coat is not clear like Martin Logan but he said it will last longer and the sound is more warm sorta like a tubish.

Hi Heine, welcome to our forum and congrats on the new speakers.

Since you are in Europe, there are a couple of resources for electrostatats you could persue. I'd direct you to Clavin's web site, as he's in Germany and has done a ton of DIY and semi-pro work on ESL's. I've alwys respected all the info he shares on DIYAudio.com (user: Calvin) http://calvins-audio-page.jimdo.com/
