Hey Guys,

I need a little help with a question that I have. I recently purchased a pair of motion 4's and was looking at the Marantz mm7025 2 channel amp to power them, the amp pushes 140 watts per channel at 8ohms and 170 watts at 6ohms. Is this amp to much power for these speakers? Im also open to any suggestions on av separates as well.

Thanks

too much power…………not a problem ! more often than not, under powered amplification which in turn leads to distortion / clipping is what causes the greatest damage.

Hi jraudio, you can never have enough power, it just means the volume knob becomes more important,by all means listen to your music loudish, just dont be a knob and blast away to the end of the volume stop. Thats when they blow!! Listen at your usual level plus a bit ,just dont be stupid.
Twitch54 is spot on clipping is to be avoided at all cost.
