Hi All,
I'm new here & am need of some advice. Found my an Odyssey which I always
wanted to own. Its a 220/230v version. When auditioning speakers they sound ok.
What I'm curious about is I did not see a blue led light . On my Odyssey,
I see a red push button just above the front woofer. Is this what you guys are
speaking off or does it serves other functions. Look up the manual but nothing
Is mentioned about this red button. Also when removing the panels for a
wash down, do I wash only the front or both sides

Thanks to all

Hola. That's the switch that turns on and off the LEDs.
Washing the panels, just at the front...
Happy listening!

Hi Roberto,
Thank you for the advice. If the blue led does not light up, will it
affect the performance of the speaker at all ?

Thanks again

I do not think so. Are separated circuits...if your panels are singing nicely, then you are OK. Happy listening!

Thank you again Roberto. Yes it was singing nicely when i auditioned
before i made the purchase. Right now I not hook up the system yet. Once
confirm speakers are working ok, I will remove panels for a wash down.
Speaking of which, why do we only wash the front n not the back of the
Mylar panels ? Very curious on the logic on this.

Many thanks again for the advice given.
Cheers

Apologies . Forgot , while cleaning the speaker I notice that there's a whistling
sound coming from the rear of the speaker when lightly push onto the woofer.
Clearly it is the sound of air & both speaker have this issue. Question, is the
cabinet a seal design or an aperiodic enclosure design .

Thank you again

When doing the washing, the side of the coated film, is at the front of the stat panel. Here is where all the dust and debris usually are.

I think, because the woofers array are Balanced Forward, the enclosure is sealed. Happy listening!

Are you sure they need washing? A very thorough vacuum with a soft brush and magnifier can get a lot of dirt out. I would never wash my panels except as a last resort.

Exactly, regular vacuuming is necessary but washing only if nothing else can be done to bring panels back to life and even then it might not help.

Best advise from Tosh and BPS. You only wash the panels as a last resort!.

What I do, it is with the aid of a 3" wide new paint brush, I sweep all the panel, having the hose of the vacuum cleaner next to the brush. I do this every one or two months and then.

Many thanks guys for the advice. Will try vacuum first. When I auditioned the speakers I did notice that the highs wasn't really good.
Now that the speakers have been shipped to me, I also notice the dreaded panel slippage which I would have to address hence the
thought of washing the panels. Btw Roberto what kind of brush are you using, a paint brush or ??? & if careless will it not pierce
through the mylar ?

Thanks again guys
