I am looking at the possibility of DIYing some CLS 11A or Z. I would obviously need to buy new panels from ML. The tricky bit is the transformers, particularly the audio transformers. ML charge a lot of money for a set of transformers so I was wondering whether I could identify the manufacturer and buy them direct as I suspect they would be a good deal cheaper. Can anybody help me identify the manufacturer?

(I've made a similar post on diyaudio)

I have one of my Vistas apart. I'll take a look and post a picture or two.

This one has a frequency range of 250-20,000 Hz. You would need a full range transformer. I couldn't find any markings on it, but the input and output voltage specs may be useful to you.

Try Russ Knots at http://www.justrealmusic.com/ . He builds electrostatic panels, electronic interfaces and complete speakers. A member of our local listening club purchased a pair of interfaces for a pair of Monolith panels and he spent less than $200 on them.

Good luck, let us know how things progress.
