In my research for my next amp, I spoke to a Plinius rep. I asked them what was the key difference between the Plinius SA-Ref vs the SA-103...

The answer was that there was apparently more Class A capacity with the SA-Ref - which is obvious. But the one thing I didn't know was that when you switch that "class A" switch, it's not truly fully class A to the specified power capacity. The Plinius SA amps run 1/3 total wattage in class A and then after that it goes to class AB.

So, SA-102/103 - total Class A watts is approximately 40 watts (out of 125 total).

SA-Ref has approximately 100 watts of Class A (out of 300 total).

Impressive that it requires so much just to pump out Class A.

Just a tidbit I found out that I wanted to share.

Interesting ............... I thought I had read somewhere about that, but that it applied to the SA-Ref but not SA-102. Regardless very similar to the Parasound JC-1 monblocks
