I'm setting one of my rooms for movie watching. It's about 14' x 28'. I purchased a pair of ML motion 40's for the front towers and will purchase a center speaker soon (ML 30 most likely) and I also purchased a sub. I was still unsure about the surrounds. I'm planning on having a row of seats about 12 feet back from either a LCD tv or projector, another row about 16 feet back. I may have bar seating behind that but I don't think that will be a part of the movie watching. So, My options are to buy one pair of ML fx surrounds for 5.1 setup, one pair of motion 15's, either of which would be placed behind the second seating row....or for about the same price 2 pairs of motion 4, or two pairs of lx 16 which are available for same price as the 4's. That way one pair can be placed near first row and another second row. Wanted to get some opinions as to getting the 7.1 system using the 4's/lx16's or is it better to use fx for movie experience even though I wouldn't buy more than 2 for now. Thanks and I'm excited to be an owner of ML speakers.
I realized this should be in the placement forum; can mods help and move this post there?
