Default Rich is Moderator. Twich54 is Admin

    Hey all,
I'll be taking a 30 day leave of absence from MLO from July 9 to Aug 12 or so, as I ride my motorcycle up to Alaska and back. During this time, Dave (twich54) will be the site administrator. Also, Rich has been made an official moderator of the site. Many of you will say since he has a Bose system this is probably not a good choice for moderator, but since he paid me $1000, I figured it was OK.

For any of you fellow riders, I'll have my SPOT messenger on, which will send my location to a satellite every 10 min and publish to this website:

    http://share.findmespot.com/shared/f...SzvaXBFEJr7WQc

Here is our itinerary... Will update this as I can.. Taking lots of pics and goPro video.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! My plan to take over the forum is almost complete! Tom is going away and I have the POWER! Your butts are all mine!

Er, I mean, I wish to thank Tom for entrusting me with these important responsibilities. I will try hard to carry out my duties with diligence and respect for all.

Dave.......Tim .......Rich, No we are not the 'Axis of Evil' ...........but close !

Tom, we'll be looking forward to trip reports ! A few years back Shirley's girl friend and husband took a motorcycle trip from our area to Fairbanks and back........you know it's a long trip when you start out with new tires and have to replace them before the end of your journey !

I've just placed a deposit today on my new ride which should look just like this. But it doesn't exist yet

30 days travelling the US following Tom in this would definitely hit the spot, I think It has adaptive cruise control which literally tracks the car in front and matches it speedwise. Cool. All you have to do is steer!

Now I wonder if it works following motorcycles... hm.

    Have a good time Tom.

Dammit I should've spent the money on Neoliths.

    Er...

I read somewhere that the Porsche market in the US is subsidised by us Europeans. The cost of ownership is apparently 25% less stateside. How true that is I don't know, but hey, you guys don't know how good you have it, LOL.

Love love love adaptive cruise control!! Had it on my Prius and when I bought my Lexus, it was a "must have".

Definitely gonna be a long adventure on the bike. The roads up there eat tires quick, so I'm getting new ones before we leave and have an appt at BMW Fairbanks to do oil service and inspect tires. May have to replace them for the return trip. Part of the trip will take us on "top of the world" highway.

And while we're not planning a trip up to Prudhoe Bay on the haul road, we are planning to go as far as the arctic circle sign!!

Nice wheels, Justin. Does it come with a souped-up sound system?

No - the one I test drove had Bose... all I could hear was thud, thud, thud. Or you can have Burmester. I went for standard fit no name. From that lot, I reckon it'll be the best

Tom, BIG envy on your upcoming ride. Alaska is the only state I haven't visited and I bet it has some of the best scenery. Watch out for moose and bears, lol.

Very nice! As a Cayman owner, I can unhesitatingly say, you will love it! Personally, I don't like adaptive cruise control, but each to his own. The color you chose is beautiful!

Er I made a bad post. That is mahogany I actually went for anthracite brown as per the vid I posted a few days ago.

Here it is again. I sacrificed the wheels in the video for adaptive cruise as I am a cruise junkie for motorway driving.

Rich PM'd to say he's really upset I didn't get the Bose system.

That's a cool color, too. My Cayman color is called Arctic Silver. There are so many colors from which to choose!

Moreso by the Australians - our Porsches are about 3x what they are in the US.

$266,200 for a 911. How does that compare?

Honestly, Justin, if they were the only two choices, I think I would have to take the Bose System over Burmester. Nice looking car, by the way. Love the Porsches. Now you just need to take it on a trip to the motherland, where you can actually drive it the way it was intended to be driven.
