please, if you would, recommend some music that really showcases the Martin Logan. I'm wondering what might be out there with acoustic instruments especially like bassoons, octocontrabass clarinet, contrabass saxophone, bass trumpet.

The style I'm looking for is a breathy, raspy sound with tons of texture...somewhat like a burping sound from the instrument.

And preferably in SACD, DSD or 192/24

kind thanks,
Eddie

Marianne Faithful's "Easy come - easy go" from 2008 fits the bill. It's an outstanding album with some of coolest deeeeb woodwind I've ever heard. Very immediate production and superb sound overall. I've only heard the vinyl, but from the "loudness database", it appears that the CD version isn't too badly brickwalled, so it should sound good as well.

I have many DVD-Audio discs of various generes that sound fantastic on the Logans. If you are into classical, The Nutcracker and Swan Lake are terrific.
